Help Raise Awareness & Show Support at The ‘More Than Pink’ Rally At The District
More than likely, breast cancer has touched your life in some way. Whether you’ve watched a family member or close friend struggle with it, heard of acquantances or distant friends (or friends of friends) who have battled it, or you, yourself has been the one to go through it, you know just how awful it is and what a toll it can take.
While there is no end to the research funds, rallys, awareness websites, walks, tributes, and other breast cancer-related events, we’re here to talk about an upcoming rally in our neighborhood: The District at Tustin Legacy.
Out studio is located here and we’re so proud to be a part of this community, both throughout Orange County, and our local neighbors of 'The District’. We’ve been calling this place “home” for over 5 years now and we’re eager to celebrate everything that it has to offer; From food and entertainment, to art, play, and more, we’re honoring our home and participating/promoting in the events, whenever hey arise.
For the upcoming, June 26th, event, we’re sharing the information with you about this special, first-time-held, ‘More Than Pink’ Rally at the District. Join fellow survivors, patients, and all-around supporters as we all come together to unite in a rally, fighting against breast cancer and uplifting those who need it most. We’re pushing for research, showing support for those who are currently fighting and those who have fought in the past, as well as raising awareness about this disease.
The goal of this rally will be to introduce people to the information about the big, upcoming walk in September.
Know The Stats (2019):
- For women in the U.S., breast cancer death rates are higher than those for any other cancer, besides lung cancer.
- About 1 in 8 U.S. women (about 12%) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime.
- Less than 5 percent of breast cancers are diagnosed in women under 40.
- In 2019, an estimated 268,600 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed in women in the U.S., along with 62,930 new cases of non-invasive (in situ) breast cancer.
- About 85% of breast cancers occur in women who have no family history of breast cancer. These occur due to genetic mutations that happen as a result of the aging process and life in general, rather than inherited mutations.
-The first sign of breast cancer often is a breast lump or an abnormal mammogram.
-Breast cancer stages range from early, curable breast cancer to metastatic breast cancer, with a variety of breast cancer treatments.
-Male breast cancer is not uncommon and must be taken seriously. A man’s lifetime risk of breast cancer is about 1 in 883.
