Make A Coffee Filter Heart Wreath Just In Time For Valentine’s Day!
Created with things you probably already have lying around the house, this craft weighs in at $0 (or less then $5, depending on what you may have to buy…), so it’s superb in our book! Its fun, easy, and a great project to get the whole family in on; you could also do this as a fun classroom project.. hey, hey teachers…. :)
Once you learn the super simple technique for dying, drying, and assembling these filters, you can make tons of wreaths in all shapes, sizes, and colors! Make this heart wreath in purple and red or pink and red; make some green filters and create an adorable clover for St. Patty’s Day; you could even leave them all white and ruffled, around a round wreath form for a farmhouse stye decoration, perfect for any door!
The tutorial, listed below, directs you to use a screwdriver to punch holes through the cardboard heart cutout, which is perfectly easy and do-able; our alternate suggestion for securing the filters to the heart is to use a glue gun. Simply adhere each filter to the cardboard with a dab of glue to ensure it stays put, for years to one! (*You could also add a touch of glue to the back of the filter twists, even if you decide to use the screwdriver/hole method.. just to be sure everything stays in it’s place.
Add a monogram or initial in the middle of the wreath for an extra personal touch and add a stunning piece of ribbon for hanging. Remember to have fun with this craft and make it your own!
