Dive Into These Books, ASAP!
October is ‘National Book Month’ and we’re here to recommend some great reads for this time of year! Nothing’s better than curling up with a good book, but when you factor some comfy clothes, a cup of something warm, and a crackling fire into the experience, that combination will always win the (chilly weathered) day! Keep these books in mind for some fabulous adventures this Fall and Winter and be sure to catch up on some of the books that will be turned into movies soon!
Reading is one of the best things you can do for your mental health, and research shows it also greatly improves vocabulary, spelling, and even memory.
Pick up your favorite books or get some new ideas from the list, below, and make some time to read!

(1) Five Feet Apart (By: Rachael Lippincott — With: Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Iaconis)
Perfect for fans of John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars, Five Feet Apart is about Stella and Will, two cystic fibrosis patients who meet in the hospital and fall in love. Stella must stay away at least six feet away from anyone who might possibly pass on an infection that would jeopardize her chances at a lung transplant–and that includes Will. Five Feet Apart hits shelves November 20 of this year, and the movie–which stars Cole Sprouse (Riverdale) and Haley Lu Richardson–will make its big screen debut on March 22, 2019!
(2) Long Way Down (By: Jason Reynolds)
With all the awards, accolades, and reader love Jason Reynolds’ bestselling Long Way Downhas earned since it came out, it’s no surprise movie studios were clamoring for the movie rights. Universal optioned the rights, Variety announced, with John Legend producing! We can’t wait to see how they tell a story written in verse that takes place over a period of only 60 seconds via the film format. However they end up structuring the narrative, we’re definitely seeing it opening night.
(3) The Wicked Deep (By: Shea Ernshaw)
Deadline announced that Netflix acquired the screen rights to The Wicked Deep, Shea Ernshaw’s novel about a town haunted each summer by the vengeful return of three sisters, thought to be witches, who were drowned in a nearby bay 200 years ago. Only our heroine, Penny, can see the sisters, an ability she keeps secret. When the sisters begin luring teen boys to their deaths, she must choose–come clean to save the guy she loves, or stay quiet to save herself?
(4) Are Your There God? It’s Me, Margaret.” (By: Judy Blume)
It’s been nearly 50 years since Judy Blume wrote her groundbreaking book Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret, and in those years, she’s turned down many offers to turn her seminal novel into a film. But now she has said yes! Deadline reports that Judy Blume has granted the rights to producer James L. Brooks’ Gracie Films and Kelly Fremon Craig, who collaborated on The Edge Of Seventeen, the coming of age film that starred Hailee Steinfeld.
(5) 'The Reminders’ (By: Val Emmich)
Grief-stricken over his partner’s death, Gavin sets fire to every physical reminder in the couple's home. A neighbor captures the ordeal on video, turning this unsung TV actor into a household name. Now, Gavin is fleeing the hysteria of Los Angeles for New Jersey, hoping to find peace with the family of an old friend. Instead, he finds Joan.
Joan, the family's ten-year-old daughter, was born with the rare ability to recall every day of her life in cinematic detail. In seconds, she can tell you how many times her mother has uttered the phrase "it never fails" in the last six months (27) or what she was wearing when her grandfather took her fishing on a particular Sunday in June years ago (fox socks).
