Disconnect to RECONNECT

Life gets crazy sometimes…. We all know this is true. It doesn’t matter how organized you are, how much of a super mom (or dad) you are, or what your daily routine looks like… things get hectic. That’s just life…. Hey, what can you do?! Just work to do the best you can to manage everything you have going on, thats really all you can do. While technology is a marvelous thing that we can all need in some way to helping us stay organized (and entertained), it’s become quite encumbersome in many ways. All of those handy hookups to guide us through life, anytime and anywhere, at just the touch of a button, are not always in our best interest.

Constantly having a connection to anyone on you at all times makes it hard to leave your work at the office or your responsibilities, locked away for the night. Trying to spend real quality time with friends or family, uninterrupted these days is almost impossible… unless you unplug for a while and make it all about living in the moment; make it all about living in the here and now with only those people around you, giving all of your attention to them, only.

Channel you inner-1996 self and remember what times where like when no one had a cell phone. Even better: channel your pre-smartphone self and remember what it was like to debate things like when Sean Penn and Madonna started dating, rather than trying to be the first person to Google it. Leave the phone at home (or at least turn it on ‘do not disturb') and take some time for the friends and family that you’re out with, having fun with no distractions and living in the moment like the good old days.

For the past few years, Pinot’s Palette has proudly honored the concept of ‘Disconnect to Reconnect’. We try to encourage everyone out there to take some time, every now and then, and disconnect from technology and all of the craziness of life, opting to relax and enjoy QUALITY time with thrones you love! This year is no different. We urge you to try a new and fun experience, like a painting and wine class, with friends or family, away from the commuters and tablets, putting the right side of your brain to good use! Spend time in a fun and creative environment, painting and sipping wine, listening to great music and making memories that will last a lifetime!

At Pinot’s Palette, we offer an exciting environment to spend time in; a place where you can catch up with friends and family in a unique atmosphere and enjoy some wine, beer, and amazing playlists to keep you moving throughout your artistic endeavor. Be sure to view our full calendar on our website, listed below. You’ll be able to view the date and time of each class, as well as see what the painting that you’ll be creating, looks like. Be sure to check us out and remember to bring your loved ones along and leave those phones at home (or at least on silent). Make it the theme for the evening as you go out for dinner before or after one of our classes (The District shopping center where our studio is located has tons of places to choose from!), and even consider making it a weekly thing: Disconnect to Reconnect. Try to make it one night a week that you go phone-less or even just a hour or two every day, instead. Try no phones on during dinner or for the hour you spend winding down, before bedtime!
