’The Giving Season’ Is Here <3
-----> PAINTING IT FORWARD WITH PINOT'S PALETTE:
The “season of giving” never truly ends. Any time of year is the right time to really consider our roles in helping local and global communities. Pinot’s Palette has hosted charitable paint nights for most of its nine-year history. From national fundraisers for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, to city-wide Painting It Forward events for the SPCA, to local paint nights for autism awareness, Pinot’s Palette locations across the entire US have partnered with countless amazing non-profits to benefit entire communities.
'Painting It Forward' events are paint and sip classes with an extra dose of heart and soul. When you buy a seat in a 'Painting It Forward' class, you're making a donation to a nonprofit or community fundraiser. To join a painting fundraiser, look for the events marked with an orange heart on your studio’s calendar. (And if you’re part of a 501(c)3 non-profit and you’re interested in hosting a painting fundraiser or awareness event, reach out to your local studio to talk options!)
We're proud to partner with amazing non-profit organizations and local charities that help our communities. Whether we're hosting an event at our location or donating items to help your organization grow, we can work together. Learn how to become a part of Painting it Forward by contacting a studio near you.
At Pinot’s Palette, we’re enthusiastic about supporting and bettering our communities. From national fundraisers for children’s research hospitals, to city-wide events for the SPCA involving multiple studios, to local paint nights for scout troops and family fundraisers, Pinot’s Palette has partnered with countless amazing non-profits and individuals in countless ways.
Painting It Forward events are paint and sip classes where proceeds go to the partner organization, usually a 501(c)3. They can be private events with a select guest list, or public classes that are open to your whole community. We’ll also work with your organization to set up other details – like silent auctions, catering, custom paintings or other important details.
It's one of the easiest (and most fun) ways to raise money! Our studios have beautiful spaces equipped with all the details you'll need, including audio equipment, ice buckets and helpful staff to help guide your guests. For extra-large groups or specialty events, some studios can also host painting fundraisers at the location of your choosing, indoors or outdoors.
Planning and setup of painting fundraisers is streamlined and flexible. From scheduling to logistics, we’ll make sure all the details are arranged.
-----> MORE WAYS TO GIVE BACK THIS SEASON:
** Be extra generous with gratuities
Whether ordering for delivery from your favorite restaurant or trying takeout from a new restaurant, giving a few extra dollars in the tip can really brighten the day of your delivery driver. Keep a stash of holiday cards, envelopes and small-increment gift cards at the ready for the driver when they bring you your meal to make it even more meaningful.
** Video call friends or family who may be feeling lonely or isolated
Chances are you may know someone who would really appreciate a call during these uncertain times. Schedule a video call with them and ask that your kids participate. Even a quick chat can really make a difference.
** Contact your local animal shelter
Ask what kind of help is needed. They might be low on pet supplies, and picking out a chew toy online can be a fun activity everyone can participate in.
** Donate food to local hospitals or firehouses
Those who are essential workers or have to work during the holidays will appreciate your effort. While you may not be able to donate homemade food this year, check your local hospital’s website to see what is accepted. Your whole family can pick out appropriate food online and send it over.
** Set up a holiday food drive.
Set up a holiday food drive. Get your friends, family or neighborhood together and start a food drive. Make sure to check out our tips for the perfect holiday food drive and help your local food bank with what they need most. Then in the weeks leading up to the holidays and at holiday gatherings, encourage your neighbors and family to help make a difference by supporting your food drive.
** Warm Someone Up With a Homemade Blanket, Hat, or Scarf
“One of my favorite hobbies is knitting, and there’s little I love more than spending a cozy weekend curled up with a project. Over the past few years, I’ve started donating cold-weather garments (like hats, scarves, and mittens) to local shelters in my area. I have a lot of friends who are big into fiber arts as well, and we’ll get together on a few Saturdays through the season to knit and crochet together. It’s a great way to create community and to provide warmth to those in need. If you’re looking for an organization to donate to, Project Linus distributes homemade blankets to children. Knots of Love also provides people who are going through chemo treatments with handmade beanies and blankets.”
** Donate Your Gift Cards
Start purchasing small denominations of various gift cards. You can opt for $5 or $10 limits for anything food or retail-related. As you grow your collection, you can start handing them out as token gifts to those in need leading up to the holidays. You can also go through any leftover gift cards you might have around the house, even if they have small-dollar remaining balances. You can pool your leftovers and maybe donate them all to a local church, school teacher, or shelter.
** Canned Goods Donations
When you're out picking up the necessary ingredients for the variety of holiday feasts you plan to prepare, grab a few extra canned goods. With every last-minute grocery run you make, you can soon accumulate a healthy stack of donatable and much-needed non-perishables.
** Make A Double Batch
Are you a meal host who always makes too much food? That's a good thing! You can always look to an area Meals on Wheels program, shelter, or church that accepts homemade donations. It's also efficient and easy to make a double batch of your favorite dish, one to serve at home and the other to donate. It's time you're already spending in the kitchen. You can double it up and turn it into an opportunity for giving back.
