The weather is getting cooler and the nights are getting longer. Hot apple cider is the perfect beverage for bonfires, sipping in front of the fireplace, Halloween, and beyond.
HOT APPLE CIDER
Perfect for all-day simmering in a crockpot or quick finish in an instant pot.
Ingredients:
32 oz of apple cider
6-8 cinnamon sticks
1/8 cup whole cloves
1/2 cup of brown sugar (add more to taste)
1 orange sliced in rings
1 lemon sliced in rings (optional)
Optional garnishes:
• additional cinnamon sticks
• whipped cream
• 1.5 oz of your favorite alcohol to each mug before serving.
(Suggestions can be whiskey, dark rum, or caramel flavored vodka.)
Directions:
1.) Place cinnamon and cloves in cheesecloth for easy removal.
2.) Combine all ingredients in crockpot and simmer on low for 6-10 hours or high for 3-5 hours.
3.) Check your instant pot for proper heating directions for a quicker finish.
4.) Ladle into mugs. Add additional cinnamon sticks and whipped cream to garnish.

HOT PUMPKIN PIE COCKTAIL
Ingredients:
4 cups milk or non-dairy milk substitute
1.5 cups Cinnamon Baileys Irish Cream
3/4 cup vanilla or pumpkin pie vodka (harder to find)
1 16 oz can pumpkin puree (not pie filling)
1-1/2 teaspoons of pumpkin pie spice
Optional garnishes:
cinnamon sticks
whipped cream
Directions:
1.) Bring milk, Bailey's Irish Cream, and vodka to a boil in a large pot.
2.) Once boiling, and turn down heat to low and stir in pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice. Stir to incorporate.
3.) Serve warm in mugs
