Pinot's Palette Artist Wreath Contest!
We all know that you’re supposed to reduce, reuse and recycle, but for artists, reuse and recycle often have totally different meanings than they do for the rest of us! Pinot's Palette wanted to put the creative minds of our artists to the test!
This holiday season Pinot's Palette created an Artist Wreath Contest, where all Pinot's Palette artists all over the nation were eligible to create a wreath out of recycled, re-purposed goods found in every Pinot's Palette studio!
The contest rules were:
- Use studio objects and whatever inspires your creativity and decorate a wreath. Items such as canvas, paint, wine corks, paint cups, etc. may be used in your wreath creation.
- Wreath must be between 10” – 18” in diameter
- Must be holiday themed
- 60% of the wreath must come from recognizable studio objects and art supplies
Pinot's Palette - Bricktown artist, Faye Miller got to work on creating her holiday wreath! Materials used: Cardboard canvas box, wine corks, canvas, paint, wire, living greens, and beads. Pinot's Palette materials used: Paints, wine corks, paper products, and canvases.
The title of her wreath was: "A Very Classy Christmas"
Faye's Artist Statement:
I wanted to re-purpose materials from the studio while keeping a sophisticated style. It's the perfect Pinot's Palette wreath because it embodies our philosophy of painting, drinking and having fun. The flowers made from repainted canvas showcase painting, the wine corks showcase drinking and the curly q's showcase our desire to just have fun!
Out of 30 submissions, Faye Miller won 1st place!! Yayy!! Check out all of the Artist Wreath Submissions below, and remember one man's trash is another man's treasure!
