How do I sign up for a class?

Browse our Event Calendar, select your painting event and follow the checkout instructions to reserve your seat. Pricing varies by event; the calendar shows current prices and details. The next month's calendar should be published by the 15th of the preceding month. For help, contact shortnorth@pinotspalette.com or 614-992-5886.

What is your cancellation/reschedule policy?

PUBLIC CLASSES: With at least 24 hours' notice, cancellations are eligible for a studio credit valid for 60 days with no rescheduling fee. Rescheduling within 24 hours incurs a fee; contact shortnorth@pinotspalette.com for details. No-shows forfeit their reservation payment. Public classes require at least 3 painters. If that minimum is not met 3 hours before class, we may cancel and notify you by email or phone. You may receive a studio credit valid for 60 days or transfer to another class. Reservations are nonrefundable. PRIVATE EVENTS: Deposits are refundable when canceled at least 14 days in advance; no refunds are available with less than 14 days' notice.

Will you start on time?

Yes. We start each event at the scheduled time. We recommend you arrive in the area at least 30 minutes prior to the start time to ensure you arrive on time. If you arrive more than 20 minutes late, you will not be able to join the class to avoid disruption to the rest of our guests.. No refunds or class credits are given to late guests.

Where do I park?

There's easy to use permit or metered street parking in the area OR 3 parking garages within a short 3-5 minute walk.

Can I bring my own drinks?

No outside beverages are allowed, including non-alcoholic drinks. Our full bar offers alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for purchase, and water is complimentary. Guests must be 21 or older with valid ID to purchase or consume alcohol.

Do I need a reservation?

Advance registration is requested but not required. Walk-ins are welcome, but without prior registration you risk arriving to find that the class has been canceled and the studio is closed. Register ahead to reserve your seat and receive class updates. If you plan to walk in, call 614-992-5886 to confirm the class is taking place. Seating with your group may be limited without advance registration.

What do I need to bring with me to the event?

We provide your canvas, easel, brushes, paints and apron. You may bring food or enjoy our Starving Artist cheese plates and snacks such as chips and candy. Our full bar offers drinks for purchase, and water is complimentary. No outside beverages are allowed. Bring valid ID if you plan to purchase or consume alcohol.

Is there an age limit for public classes?

Yes. Unless specifically noted on the calendar, the age requirements are 13+ for classes that begin at 6PM or later. 13-17 year olds must attend with a paid adult for evening classes. **You must be 21+ to purchase and consume alcohol.

Do you offer classes for kids or families?

Yes! We offer Little Brushes events for ages 5–12 and Family Day events. Pricing and duration vary by event; check our Event Calendar for age guidance and details. A parent or guardian may accompany children at Little Brushes events without painting. Babies and toddlers cannot attend public classes.

Do you host private events?

Yes! Plan a birthday, bachelorette party, team building event or celebration at our Short North studio in Columbus. We also offer mobile painting events with a minimum of 15 guests. I don't have any artistic talent? Will I be able to complete the painting?

Absolutely and it is easier than you might imagine! Our instructors are professional artists themselves and are well trained in making the painting process simple and enjoyable for painters of all skill levels. Everyone gets step by step instructions at a comfortable pace.

What size of canvas will be used?

Unless otherwise noted, 16x20 inch canvas is used.

Can I bring someone that doesn't want to sign up for a class?

Public events require a purchased seat and participation, except that a parent or guardian may accompany children at Little Brushes events without painting. Contact our Short North studio if you have questions about your group's needs.

What is your inclement weather policy?
