Making Sourdough Bread
While we don't always focus on baking/cooking/recipes, as of late, we have been cooking WAY more in my house, as I am guessing you have too. One of the new things that we have tried, and by 'we', I mean, my husband Jim did ALL the prep work, and 'we' ate it lol. We have attached a great step-by-step guide to making sourdough bread, thank you to the Stay At Home Chef, and have just briefly went over the basics below.
1.) Making the starter...THIS is the lengthy process, 5 days worth. Set alarms and reminds, you do not want to miss feeding your starter!
2.) Sourdough maintenance...thank goodness that you can continue to make bread without having to do #1 every time. WHEW!
3.) Making the dough and first rise...takes overnight, hang in there, we are almost there...
4.) Second rise and baking...FINALLY! You must be patient with that second rise, but then you will be ready for the baking.
