Meet An Artist - Donna

Meet our artist Donna. She has been with us since we opened in July 2016 and has pretty much worked every weekend since. We love that she is a part of our staff. Donna has also just recently been named a finalist in the Fall out of Format campaign. This national campaign involves every open studio and only 2 paintings were selected. Congrats Donna - you make us proud!

Hi! I'm Donna Abbott. I live right here in Olathe, KS. However, I am a Texan at heart. I'm from the Dallas area. I met my husband there and we have moved several times together. Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Fort Worth, and Olathe now. I have always been a painter, it luckily runs in the family on both sides! I have a BFA degree, which I achieved with honors in Interior Design in 2005. I love Kitchen and Bath residential design. I do teach Sunday school on occassion, their little pre-school faces are so beautiful. I have been teaching Paint and Sip classes for 6 years and it is THE best "job" I have ever had. I absolutely love what I do and that is a wonderful thing. My personal favorite style of painting is Impressionism. But, like design styles, I enjoy all of them. Naturally I am pretty crafty and I like any medium of art. If I am not at work you can find me hanging out with my boys! Sam is 7, Brad is 5, and Odin our german shepherd is 1. I love to run and enjoy pretty much any physical activity. I get a love of classic cars from my dad. You might see my old camaro out front sometimes. I bring my mom to paint at the studio sometimes on my days off, she's a pretty good painter too btw, so chances are you might see me there in the crowd! Thanks for sharing my love of art. Cheers!
