Sales Statistics You Need To Know
Let's face it, no one likes to be in sales and no one likes to be sold. However, it is a necessary part of life. Shawn Sandy has said it best in his article that has been attached.
We need to stop thinking of just the sales quota and how to get it sold. There is a new animal that is driving business, and it's the buyer not the seller. From knowing everything about a product to what it should cost, the internet has provided a plethora of information about everything for a potential product. A good change with this new process, is that if someone reaches out to you, the sales person, you better be present and answer, because chances are they are ready to buy.
Another huge influencer is referrals. From Facebook reviews, to google reviews, to reviews on Amazon...they are everywhere. Those little stars can make or break a business. One way to attract customers, is to have live advocates and brand ambassadors. They will do volumes for your sales and business.
With the increase of technology, a lot of the human contact has been taken out of the formula. It is all about the customer experience. There are live chats, emails, messaging through Facebook and believe it or not, Twitter, is a very real and fast way to connect with companies. From start to finish the buyer is expecting perfection throughout. Out with the old and in with the new. Most companies that cannot adapt to the new customer experience will not be around for long. Nothing is so valuable that customers cannot find someone else who is doing the same thing and better.
Companies now must not just sell, but show buyers why they are buying and why they want this product in their life, and what is in it for them. It's not just a sale, but a journey, with the end result being the customer has been fulfilled in some manner.
With so many ways for people to be contacted...email, text, messaging, phone, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc...in order to stand out you must be memorable and unique...do something, and have something that will make you stand out or you will just blend in with the noise.
Another way to reach potential buyers is to have a LinkedIn account. While some just think of it as another form of Facebook, it really is a way for customers to get to know you. Connect with those invites, share great articles, and comment!
This will give you, the seller, something to think about the next time you try to 'sell' anything!
