What Exactly IS A Paint & Sip Class?
You may have heard of a “Paint & Sip Class” before…Maybe you've seen some friend posting photos of their artwork on social media…
Perhaps you’ve driven by our Olathe studio and always wondered “Hmmm, what kind of business is that?”
Well, wonder no more! We’re here to fill you in on everything that our studio is about! We’re betting that once you know more, we’ll see you for a class or two!

Well, much like our name implies, we’re all about PINOTS... like Pinot Grigio and Pinot Noir (and EVERY type of wine, for that matter), and PALETTES… As in paint palettes!
Pinot’s Palette is a paint and wine studio that provides acrylic painting classes that you can enjoy as you sip a glass of wine, beer, or any other “Liquid Creativity” that you prefer!
Gather friends together and join us for a fun night out; Come in with your special someone for your next Date Night; Or make it a family affair and bring the whole gang in to paint, have fun, and make a lot of great memories on Family Day!
Since 2009, Pinot’s Palette has been providing these painting classes at locations across the US, teaching millions of people how to paint! Our Olathe location, which opened almost 6 years ago, has been home to guests from all over the area, including Overland Park, Shawnee, Gardner, and Lenexa!
Seeing all of the smiling faces come through our doors and then leaving with a handmade work of art that they are so proud of is something indescribable and is exactly why we do this!
And yes…. YOU CAN PAINT! Everyone can!

We have a monthly calendar available online where you can check out all of the upcoming paintings, see the date & time, and even sign up for a class!
As mentioned, we proudly stand by the belief that EVERYONE CAN PAINT! It’s true! We all have a creative side; We all have an inner-artist, just waiting to be set free… And we could ALL use a little time to explore our creativity as we express ourselves through art.
Hundreds of Pinot’s Palette artists have been creating original paintings since 2009 and we always keep the customer in mind.
We create paintings that can be taught in a 2-3 hour time period, are beginner-friendly, and in subjects that everyone enjoys!
Our library, filled with hundreds of paintings, has something for everyone, just like our calendar each month!

--- PRIOR EXPERIENCE? ---
Nope! No prior painting experience is needed. That’s what we’re here for.. the novice! We promise that you will be able to paint. OUr friendly and talented instructors will walk you through the painting, step-by-step, guiding you the whole time and always being there to help with anything you may need! Our staff is helpful and encouraging and will swoop in to help fix any “mistake” you make… But, like Mr Bob Ross says, “There are no mistakes, only Happy Little Accidents” :)
--- THE DRINKS ---
Our studio is BYO - Bring Your Own!
Grab a cooler and some of our favortie wine, beer, or other liquid creativity, and join us in the studio! Hey, while you’re enjoying the spirits, why not munch on some snacks, too?! You can bring in some light bites from home, some outside food you make have grabbed before the class, or maybe you and your friends are doing a little potluck style of snacking where each person brings soemthing in to enjoy.
However you want to do it, know that drinks (and snacks) are encouraged as you paint. Hey, isn’t everything more fun with a glass of wine in your hand?
--- PRIVATE EVENTS ---
In addition to the paintings on the Public Calendar, we also offer Private Parties! You can rent the studio for a painting and wine class where you and the guests of your choice will create the painting of your choice, on the day and time of your choice!

--- WHAT’S A CLASS GENERALLY LIKE? ---
Once you’ve reserved your spot online, you’ll come to the studio on the day and time of your class, sign in, find your seat, and pop, crack, or twist open a cold one!
The instructor will walk you through the 2-3 hour painting, step-by-step, providing breaks to refill your drinks, let the canvas dry, and for you to socialize with friends.
We’ll take a group photo at the end of class (as well as some shots during the class, here and there) and then you leave with your masterpiece!
Be sure to follow us on social media and find some of the pics from your class there! Tag yourself!
Take your painting home to display in your house, give to a friend, or just use to make others jealous of how artistically inclinded you are! :)

--- TIPS FOR YOU ---
** Sign up online, as early as you can
Classes do sell out AND you want to make sure that your group gets a seat in the class, so while we DO take walk-ins, it’s really not ideal planning on your part, as there is a pretty good chance that seats will be all full by the time you get to the door.
** Let us know if you want to sit with others
If you and your group of friends are registering separately, make sure everyone lists which party they are with in the comments (“Sitting with the Conner party”… or “Would like to be seated with Jeff Black”….). We want to make sure that we set up the tables with friends and large groups in mind so everyone has a seat and most importatnly, has a seat with their bffs!
** Wear clothing you don’t mind getting dirty
While we rarely see our guests leave with paint all over them, the occasional drop of paint may splash onto your clothing. We use acrylic paint which is plastic-based, meaning that once it dries, there’s not much hope in getting it out. Let us know if you have a spill or splash and we will try to help you, BUT also make sure to arrive in clothing that isn't your favorite items, should something get messy. :)
