Pumpkin Patches Worth Knowing About
There are several pumpkin patches to choose from this year. Here are some of our favorites! Make sure to wear clothes that can get dirty, no matter which one you pick!
Deanna Rose
Sept. 28 - Oct. 31: Come and get lost in our patch of pumpkins. From big and small to round and tall, you'll find a pumpkin you like and so much more at Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead's annual Pumpkin Hollow. A horse-drawn wagon ride will take you to and from the patch where each person gets to take home a pumpkin. Children can ride the Pumpkin Hollow Express, a barrel train pulled by a real farm tractor.
Louisburg Cider Mill
Sept. 14 - Oct. 31: Enjoy the FUN-FILLED Pumpkin Patch at the Historic Louisburg Cider Mill! Get out of the city and into the country with a short trip down Highway 69. Whether you are tall or small, young or old – don’t miss the best of times! Activities include: Pick Your Own Pumpkin from the 10-acre patch, exploring the awesome 10 acre Corn Maze, Children's Play Area, Fort Appleton, Tricycle Track, Farm Animals, & Sunflower Hill Slide. Have loads of fun on the enormous 30 foot by 60 foot Jump Pillow! Free LIVE music and bonfires on select evenings. And, don't forget to tour the Cider Mill and watch as fresh cider is pressed and enjoy the delicious cider donuts!
Johnson Farms
Sept. 22 - Oct. 31: Johnson Farms is a real farm in the country, but very close to your home. After a wagon ride out to the field, your children will race through the 40-acre pumpkin patch and will thrill at the sight of their perfect pumpkin! While you’re out there, meander the twists and turns of the 10 acre corn maze with your kids, (always a good idea to go in with them!) or take pictures near the Giant Sunflower field.
Carolyn's Country Cousins
Among the most popular and unique attractions include taking a ride on Little Bud’s Railroad, which is a replica of an 1863 C.P. Huntington Train. Families should also check out the excitement of Uncle Lester’s Pig Races, and take a hayrack ride to 50+ acres of “you pick” pumpkins. Last but definitely not least, do not leave without trying the world-famous pumpkin donuts. More than likely, you’ll be taking some home!
