Whether you’re catching it live in Houston or hosting a viewing party at home, here are some cocktails to make you feel like you’re cheering on your team right in their hometown.For the Atlanta Fans
The Georgia Peach: the unofficial-official drink of Atlanta
• 2 oz. peach schnapps
• 1 oz. vodka
• 1/4 fluid oz. grenadine
• 4 oz. lemonade
Mix all the ingredients in a shaker with ice. Pour into sugar rimmed glasses and garnish with a maraschino cherry.
The Draft Eddy: tastes like Spring in ATL
• 1 ½ oz. Ruby Red Grapefruit Vodka
• ½ oz. fresh lemon juice
• ½ oz. simple syrup
• your favorite light lager
Mix the vodka, lemon juice, and simple syrup in a shaker. Pour in a tall glass and top off with the lager. Garnish with a lemon slice.
Peach Tea with Whiskey: an Arnold Palmer with more Rhett Butler style
• pitcher of 8 cups hot black tea, steeped
• 1 ½ cups whiskey
• peach simple syrup
o Made by boiling 2-3 fresh peaches, diced, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup water, 1 lemon, juiced
Strain the peach simple syrup into a bowl to remove fruit pieces. Add the syrup and whiskey to tea, then chill until ready to serve. Serve over ice with sliced peaches, sliced lemons, and a mint sprig.
For the New England Fans
The Boston Sidecar: a traditional sidecar with a New England twist
o ¾ oz. rum
o ¾ oz. brandy
o ¾ oz. triple sec
o ½ lime, juiced
Mix all the ingredients in a shaker with ice. Serve in chilled martini glasses.
The Ward 8: originated in 1898 in the bar of Boston’s 3rd oldest restaurant, Locke-Ober
o 2 oz. rye whiskey
o ½ oz. fresh lemon juice
o ½ oz. fresh orange juice
o 1 teaspoon grenadine
Mix all the ingredients in a shaker with ice, then strain into chilled cocktail glasses. Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
The Boston Sour: a whiskey sour with a Boston twang
o 2 oz. blended whiskey
o ½ lemon, juiced
o 1 tsp. powdered sugar
o 1 egg white
Mix all the ingredients in a shaker with ice, then strain into chilled whiskey glasses. Garnish with a slice of lemon and top with a cherry.
