————— Great ways to add colorful updates to your home —————
1-Be Brave With Color, But Save the Bright Ones for Accents
Bold colors can be so much fun in your home, but you'll want to save them for accents if you'd like to create a peaceful space. If you love bold colors, don't feel limited to using them on a vase or pillow, you can add a stunning chair to any color palette. Colorful artwork is the perfect place to add more energy to your palette, especially on a neutral wall.
2-Finding the Right Color Scheme for Your Home is All About Balance
Understanding the basic ideas of Feng Shui can help you create a soothing space in your home. Feng Shui relies on the principles of energy and balance.
You do not have to decorate in an Asian or modern style to get the benefits of Feng Shui's color balance. Any home, in any decorating style, can be more relaxed with a balanced color palette. A balanced color palette includes a base color, a color in a medium tone, and a few lighter accents. Feng Shui decorating also encourages you to let go of clutter, and that includes color clutter with too many colors and decorations that make the room look busy and overwhelming.
3-Be Adventurous With Neutral Colors
Bored with gray and beige? There is more to neutral palettes than just those two colors. Build on your neutral color palette with metallics like gold and silver. Oil rubbed bronze and copper accents work well with dark brown in a neutral palette. If your color palette includes a cool white neutral color, you can add pale pink or blue. If you prefer a warm white color, a warm gold or greige accent can help you layer your neutral colors for a gorgeous palette.
———— More Decorating Tips —————
1-Use texture and layering to add interest to a space.
"The devil’s in the details”, so the saying goes… It’s the attention to detail that takes a room from nice to amazing, and those small details are what will give a room its personality.
Layering helps add dimension and interest to a room. Add a throw and a bed tray to your bed, or create a vignette for your coffee table. Just like layering jewelry, layering your home decor accessories can be really fun — just be sure not to overdo it.
Another detail that is important not to overlook is use of texture. A room will fall flat without use of textures, so consider adding fabrics like linen, burlap, raw silk — anything that has a great texture to it because that helps add dimension to your decorating.
2- When in doubt, go big or go home.
Big and bold is more modern than a bunch of small objects grouped together, so rather than grouping a bunch of small accessories, use one large one. Rather than a hanging of small pictures on a wall, choose a few big pieces. If in between sizes, choose the larger area rug. Hang an oversized mirror over your hallway console table.
3-Don’t be afraid to mix metals.
Just like with jewelry, gone are the days when matchy-matchy in home decor was considered a good thing. Mixing metals keeps things interesting, and it’s more modern than having all the same finishes.
These days, shiny brass and chrome fixtures are taking a backseat to matte black, matte gold, oil rubbed bronze, and brushed nickel — but any metal can all look great if it works with your overall home’s style aesthetic and the rest of your decor.
————— Using Artwork In Your Decorating —————
Displaying artwork is an excellent way to spruce up your walls, create conversation pieces, and create a flow to the decor of your home. No matter the budget, no matter the taste, you can decorate your home with art and paintings to add character and style. By following some simple guidelines, you can hang art and paintings around you house without it being overwhelming or distracting. Artwork doesn't have to dominate your rooms; it should enhance them. You can use it to create a focal point, add color and pattern into a space, and make a statement about who you are and what your style is all about!

Incorporating colors into your decor
Think about what your artwork says… The color, the movement, the styles and the subject all have a meaning and all work great in certain spaces. Art that has a calming presence, perhaps made up of blues and grey, or other light and peaceful colors, are perfect for the bedroom or a bathroom; Paintings that are filled with bright and bold colors, work to even up a space, bringing energy and drama into a room, making statement wherever they are.
