CALUDE MONET
Oscar-Claude Monet was a founder of French Impressionist painting and the most consistent and prolific practitioner of the movement's philosophy of expressing one's perceptions before nature, especially as applied to plein air landscape painting)
(*Plein air is French for outdoors, or plein air painting) is the act of painting outdoors.
He is beloved for his series of oil paintings depicting water lilies, serene gardens, and Japanese footbridges. The French painter manipulated light and shadow to portray landscapes in a groundbreaking way, upending the traditional art scene in the late 19th century.
Monet's ambition of documenting the French countryside led him to adopt a method of painting the same scene many times in order to capture the changing of light and the passing of the seasons

VINCENT VAN GOGH
Vincent Willem van Gogh was a post-Impressionist painter whose work, notable for its beauty, emotion and color, highly influenced 20th-century art. He is one of the most famous and influential artists of all time. He took up painting with almost no formal training. His tremendous oeuvre of landscapes, still-lifes, portraits and sketches with their vibrant colors and subjective perspective would revolutionize how the world viewed art. He fought depression and mental illness while creating an intense and arresting universe of images. Vincent van Gogh is considered the greatest Dutch painter after Rembrandt, although he remained poor and virtually unknown throughout his life.

3/8 ’Starry Night Chicago’
Inspired by Van Gogh's Starry Night this painting combines the famous swirly sky with the windy city skyline.
