‘Shark Week’ Celebrates It’s 30th Year!!! What’s the History Behind This Awesome, Annual Week And How Are We Celebrating?!
Celebrated by billions of people, all over the world, these intriguing, exciting, educational, and terrifying shows are loved by people everywhere! Weather you specifically subscribe to the stations that premiere these fascinating shows or you're addicted to streaming them, rewatching them, and sharing them online, these amazing shows are killer (pun, intended).
**So, what’s the history behind this long-running, super-popular show???
“Television’s longest-running event” celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, and just on this first night, you can enjoy Alien Shark, Bear Vs. Shark, Shark After Dark, and Shaq Does Shark Week. “In addition, Shark Week’s team of renowned scientists deliver all-new groundbreaking shark stories incorporating innovative research technology to reveal compelling insight into the mysterious world of sharks.” So enjoy these twenty-some hours of shark programming, even though it might add an element of dread to your summer coastal beach visits. After all, like the anniversary promo says, “Times may change, but awesome never gets old.”"
Shark Week is an annual, week-long TV programming block created by Tom Golden at the Discovery Channel, which features shark-based programming. Shark Week originally premiered on July 17, 1988. Featured annually, in July and/or early August, it was originally devoted to conservation efforts and correcting misconceptions about sharks. Over time, it grew in popularity and became a hit on the Discovery Channel. Since 2010, it has been the longest-running cable television programming event in history. Broadcasted in over 72 countries, Shark Week is promoted heavily via social networks like Facebook and Twitter. (*Episodes are also available for purchase on services like Google Play Movies & TV/YouTube, Amazon Video, and iTunes. Some episodes are free on subscription-based Hulu)
The first Shark Week premiered in July 1988, with the first show to air being Caged in Fear. A total of 10 episodes aired. In 2000, Discovery Channel aired Shark Week Uncaged presented by famous zoologist Nigel Marven as a host. In 2005, Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman of MythBusters hosted Shark Week, which premiered with a two-hour MythBusters "Jaws Special”. In 2007, Discovery Channel celebrated Shark Week's 20th Anniversary hosted by Les Stroud, host of Survivorman
**How are WE Celebrating this annual tradition??
We’re celebrating this excellent week the way we know best: with some great paintings!
We’ve got some super classes coming up, all week long! When you’re looking to take a break from all those shark shows, come in and try your hand at a creative activity like painting! At our painting and wine classes, you get to get in touch with your inner-artist and see what kind of creative things you can do! We think you’ll be truly surprised by the amount of artistic ability you’ll find in yourself, over just the course of a 2-3 hour class; we believe this because of the thousands of customers we’ve had the privilege of meeting that have left our classes, amazed that THEY made a gorgeous work of art and proud to show it off. We enjoying encouraging first-time painters to come in for a class with the promise that ”anyone can paint” and we stand by that slogan, every day. Our talented and helpful team of artists will help you through the class, assisting you with extra help with your painting, the whole time. The truth is that the majority of of our customers are new to the concept of painting and haven’t held a paintbrush since the 3rd grade, so don’t worry if you’re a first-timer… we’re here to help you create that piece of art that you can be proud to carry home, hang on your walls, and use as a great conversation piece for when your friends and family come over!

We love our glass (or glasses) of wine prreeetty much anywhere, but could you imagine how awesome a glass of pinot with a Paris scene like this would be!?
