These Classes Are OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!
We’re offering some amazing paintings throughout the next month that you’ll absolutely want to participant in, if you geek out as much as we do about ‘Star Wars’, ‘Harry Potter’, and all other supernatural/fantasy things!!! Starting with some stunning aurora borealis landscapes (or, skyscape, actually), and ending with our special ‘May The Fourth’ class on…well…May 4th (AKA: ’Star Wars Day’), we’ve got something for everyone!
In one world, consisting of a popular space series, we’re taken to a galaxy far, far, away. We’ve seen robots (droids) interact with humans, learned the ways of a Jedi knight, fallen in love with small creatures, both of them furry (Ewoks) and green (Yoda) variety, and watched in amazement as Outer Space is seen in a way we could have never, otherwise, imagined. Since it’s original release in 1977, 'Star Wars' has been a part of the world in too many ways to count. From the original script lines and score, to endless usage of those quotes and songs in MANY other forms of entertainment, paying homage to the creative mind of George Lucas, EVERYONE has seen or heard of 'Star Wars'.
In another world, one filled with wizards and witches, fun and fierce games, magic spells, owls, talking hats, and wands, we were granted shown things we could never have thought of, ourselves. These ultra-popular fantasy novels have been an unimaginable hit since they first hit the UK in 1997. Readers of all ages have delighted in the mystery, magic, and well-thought-out, continuous stories of creator, J.K. Rowling. Anyone who has read the books or seen the movies has had the privileged of being introduced to a world filled with rich color and characters, making these stories an easy and fun read for everyone.
While there are many differences between the previously mentioned books and movies, one thing always remains the same in these stories: Good triumphs over bad! We enjoy the depth and backstories of all the characters, good and bad, alike, but we always root for the good guys. We want the natural balance of the universe to be restored when the bad guys come through and try to destroy everything we love, but our heroes are there to make things right. We love to believe in something more than the world, surrounding us, and the things we cannot see, and with fun and exciting stories like these, we are enabled to do so!
We’ve listed the 5, upcoming classes that are being offered for the next month, in hopes that these will carry favor with those of us, all about magical powers and alternate worlds. The sky is full of wonder with its moon, stars and planets. Keep your eyes up and you might catch a glimpse of something more.
***Proceeds from this class will be donated to The Max Lacewell Foundation. Special guests from Midwest Garrison will be here during this class.
The MWG is a chapter of The 501st Legion, the world's largest Star Wars costuming group
The Midwest Garrison is the Illinois chapter of The 501st Legion, a Star Wars Imperial costuming club. The 501st is dedicated to the movie-quality costumes of the "villains" of the Star Wars universe.
The MWG provides a means for Star Wars fans to meet and network with each other to engage in the hobby of building and improving Imperial costumes from the Star Wars movies. They are a charitable organization, constantly raising money for nonprofits and other organizations with their charismatic and unique hobbies and interests.
