*** EASY ***
If you're just too tired to do much but need a fast solution for your elf, try one of these easy peasy ideas:
Dry Eraser Pranks
Use a dry erase marker to doodle on framed photos in the house!
Draw a mustache, unibrow, black-out some teeth, or write something funny and watch the kids giggle with glee!
Bubble Bath
Put your elf in the tub with polyfill and let him “soak” in a nice bubble bath!
-- Heather G.
DIY Minions
Use a sharpie to draw minion faces on the bananas! This would be fun to put in your kids' lunches too – always watching!!
Candy Cane Hunt!
“Sparkle hid candy canes around the house for the kids to find”
Think easter egg hunt but with the more-festive candy canes!
-- Rebekah E.
Hot Air Balloon
Use a blown-up balloon and red solo cup to create a “hot air” balloon that your elf is taking a ride on! Use yarn or fishing wire to suspend it from the ceiling or doorway!
Ahdesive googly eyes are a wonder of their own and sure to bring laughs the morning they’re discovered on EVERYTHING in the fridge (including the elves).
Stick these wiggly eyes on the condiments, drink bottles, and more and have your elves sitting on the shelves with googly eyes of their own!
-- Megan R.
Eggcellent!
“Our elf made faces on our eggs in the refrigerator with a sharpie marker. When the kids opened and saw him with a marker in his hand, they loved it!”
-- Erin K.
Climbing Elf
Use magnets (or tape some candy to the fridge) and have your elf climbing up them like a rock climbing wall!
-Erika J.
Laundry Tree
Socks on the tree is easy enough and a lot of fun! Add some socks to the tree like they’re additional ornaments and the kids will enjoy seeing the chaos! :)
Gone Fishing
Fill the sink with some water and goldfish crackers and have the elves fishing with some ribbon. A note on the bathroom mirror in dry eraser marker can invite the kids to fish, too! :)

*** EXTRA-CREATIVE ***
If you're looking to get a little extra-creative with your elf this year, try one of these bigger ideas:
Pin The Nose On The Reindeer
This is a cute one and easy to do! Print out a picture of a reindeer and hang it on the wall. Some small red dot stickers will work perfectly for the nose that you elf (and maybe their buddies) have to pin on the reindeer!
(*You could easily use a hole punch to get some red dots and a little adhesive will do the trick)
Elf mischief in the microwave! Popcorn anyone?
Pop some popcorn and scatter it in the microwave and spilling out onto the counter below. Your elf (or elves) can sit right in the middle of the mess like they were having a delicious popcorn party and got caught!
Christmas Tree Decorating Contest!
Grab some mini trees (check the Dollar Store or Target Dollar Deals) and other small items from the dollar store like mini candy canes, tiny ornaments, and more to make fun decor for the trees.
Tell the kids they get to have a tree decorating contest!
(*Take it one step further and have the kids paint their own little ornaments or shrink popcorn or pom pom garland for their tree!)
-- Brittany A.
Snowball Fight
Use legos (or other blocks) to build 2 walls or forts that your elf can hide behind and then another fun toy to put behind the other wall….
Little white pom poms (or mini marshmallows) are the perfect size for snowballs for the fight!
Held Hostage
Use some white fabric to create a blindfold, a ball of yarn to do the hostage tying, and pose your elf so he looks all pitiful with his hands behind his back. Stage any other toys around to make it look like he is being held hostage. :)
Science Fun!
“We did rain cloud experiments that our elf left. Fill cups with water, top with shaving cream, and add red or green food coloring drops on the top. The color will eventually come through the “cloud” (shaving cream). My kids love it when our elf leaves instructions and materials for an experiment!”
-- Rosanna J.
*Another fun experiment is water + skittles in a saucer. The color from the skittles will run and make a colorful rainbow-like pattern in the saucer! The kids can do this as a fun experiment or they can wake up to the fun where the elf did it!
-Candice C.
Lots Of Fun!
"We have 3 elves, one per boy. They always bring us a special North Pole Breakfast! My kids love it. They like to bring little goodies some days, not all the time. They have made the boys a “candy lunch” by filling their lunch boxes with candy before school. They have colored our milk green and hide in the refrigerator because it’s too hot here, elves like cold weather. They have delivered us pizzas, sometimes they play loud Christmas music in the mornings to wake everyone up! They have wrapped the boys' shoes in Saran Wrap."
-- Lindsey F.
