It's more than just a way to make artwork beautiful, and while artists tend to use them for deeper meaning, we are ALL inspired by color, whether we know it or not.
With the arrival of June comes 'Pride Month', one that's full of colors, representing a myriad of things. Here, color takes on an even deeper meaning. The rainbow has become one of the most-recognized symbols of Pride around the world. It represents diversity, acceptance, individuality, and the beauty that comes from bringing everyone together. While each color stands strong on its own, the rainbow reminds us of the impacts that come from color... and every color, existing together.
Pride flags reflect the diversity of the LGBTQ+ community, with colors symbolizing life, healing, sunlight, nature, serenity, and spirit.
Here are some of the colors of a rainbow that symbolize other things:
