10 Ways To Stay Mentally Healthy Right Now
There’s a lot of advice being offered right now about how to keep yourself physically healthy during the coronavirus pandemic, such as washing your hands and practicing social distancing.
But managing mental health during this time is just as vital to your overall well-being. So while we’re under quarantine, dealing with this virus, make sure you take steps to address your psychological well-being.
If you’re not proactive about taking care of your mind and emotions during this time, you may notice a decline in mental health, and that’s the last thing we want on top of everything right now.
Check out these ways to stay mentally healthy throughout this time.
1- Be Thankful
You’re spending more time as a family, not as much money on eating out or going out to do things, and for many us, no commute to work as we sit in traffic.
There are so many wonderful things to be thankful for right now, so take a moment each day to make a list (mental or actual) of all the things you’re thankful for!
2- Focus On The Future
Things won’t always be like this. We will be able to leave our homes again and gather with loved ones.
Just keep that in mind and remember to be thankful for the blessings that this current situation has brought. Soon enough we’ll all be back to our usual crazy schedule and longing for these lazy days, filled with family time.
Make plans for what you want to do when you’re able to go out into public again. List places to eat, things to do with the kids, and public places you can’t wait to visit; This will give everyone something to look forward to!
3- Read A Book Or Listen To A Podcast
Reading is such a luxury when our lives are hectic, so take advantage of this time and dig into that pile of recommended books you’ve been wanting to get to!

6- Meditate
When we meditate, we inject far-reaching and long-lasting benefits into our lives: We lower our stress levels, we get to know our pain, we connect better, we improve our focus, and we're kinder to ourselves. Let us walk you through the basics in our new mindful guide on how to meditate.

7- Take A Hot, Relaxing Bath
Use whatever you have at the house- bubbles, salts, or just your regular soap…
Light some candles, and pick a relaxing playlist to enjoy.
Tell the family you’ll be gone for 30 minutes and take ALL of that glorious time, just for you!
8- Spend Time With Loved Ones
As we said before, think about the silver lining of the time you’re getting with the ones you love most. We realize that not everyone is quarantined with their whole family, so take some time out of each day to connect in other ways.
Become pen pals with your dear aunt, call your grandparents or parents to talk, or FaceTime with your favorite cousin.
There are so many great ways to connect with loved ones these days and there’s never been a better time to use them!
