Houston has so many great summer activities to offer and here are few you might want to add to your summer bucket list!

Young Writers Workshop – Discover green
Do you have a budding writer? Discovery Green is having a free workshop on Saturdays for kids to learn how to express their thoughts and develop language skills. Presented by Houston Public Library/HPL Express and Discovery Green. Workshop conducted by Writers in the Schools. Limited to 25 students, first come first serve. Watch the Bats take Flight!
One of Houston’s best-kept secrets is our bat population. The Waugh Bridge Bat Colony consists of Mexican free-tailed bats that emerge nightly to stretch their wings and feed on area insects. Right in the middle of the city, at the busy bridge crossing Buffalo Bayou, more than 200,000 bats emerge each night at dusk. Bring a blanket and grab a spot on the beautiful banks of the bayou and watch them fly towards the Downtown skyline.

Located on Heights Boulevard, the Art Car Museum is a must-see in the Heights area, and Houston overall. While it's not huge, kids and adults will be easily entertained with this one-of-a-kind spot, and you’ll be so happy that it’s free!

The Chocolate Bar
We all deserve a little summer chocolate break! The Chocolate Bar has so many unique and decadent ice creams, frozen hot chocolate, root beer floats and iced coffees to help you cool off this summer. They also have homemade dog treats for your 4-legged kiddos!
