Paint and Sip Friendly Appetizers!
Appetizers!!! Our favorite part of every meal, party or gathering! Appetizers at their best should be easy to make, portable and delicious! If you are searching for something to bring with you to nibble on while you paint at Pinot’s Palette, these won’t give you dirty fingers and are small enough to fit nicely with you at your canvas.
PROSCIUTTO AND CANTALOUPE SKEWERS
Cut your cantaloupe into bite-size pieces. Roll the prosciutto into 2 or 3 pieces and place both on a small skewer. Sprinkle basil and black pepper on top.
STRAWBERRY, BALSAMIC AND BASIL CROSTINI
Cut strawberries into slices. Set aside. In a small mixing bowl combine ricotta (1cup), basil and chives. Stir to combine thoroughly then Set aside.
Toast bread until golden brown. Assemble crostini by layering each piece of toast with the herbed cheese and sliced strawberries. Add a drizzle of honey and balsamic vinegar and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Garnish with snipped chives and chopped basil before serving. Salt and pepper. AVOCADO CRACK DIP
Mix the following ingredients in a bowl and serve with tortilla chips or crackers!
Ingredients:
• 2 plum Roma tomatoes, chopped
• ¼ cup onion chopped fine
• 1 bunch fresh curly parsley chopped very fine
• 1 clove garlic minced
• ½ teaspoon oregano
• 1 tablespoon good olive oil
• 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
• 4 ounces plain crumbled feta cheese
• Salt and pepper to taste
• 2 avocados chopped into chunks
SPICED EDAMAME
This healthy recipe is great when you have fewer than 30 minutes to throw something together! Bring heavily-salted water to a boil, then add edamame pods and let them sit until tender, about eight minutes. Remove the edamame from the water and pat dry. While still hot, toss them in a bowl with salt, pepper, chili powder, and oregano.
BACON WRAPPED LITTLE SMOKIES
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Slice the bacon strips into thirds.
Roll each smokie in a strip of bacon. Stick it with a toothpick and sprinkle with brown sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
