We will be honest with you. We LOVE painting nature's best scenery. Don't believe us, just take a peep at our vast painting library!
Any landscape or oceanscape painting compliments all of our customer's one-of-a-kind painting style and looks mighty good on their walls.
Regardless of what painting you might be doing, there are some tips and tricks to make it easier. One of the things we noticed is branches and trees make our first-time painters a tad bit nervous. HAVE NO FEAR, PINOT'S PALETTE IS HERE!
We have provided a video tutorial above, because we know we're mostly visual learners, to assist you in mastering painting trees!
As an artist myself at Pinot's Palette - Montrose, we always tell our painters to take a deep breath and sip your wine because straight lines aren't necessary when painting trees! The shakier your hands are, the better because confidence is crucial and you got to OWN IT!
We highly recommend thinning down your paint with water, so painting thin branches are a breeze. With any brush, the more pressure you apply, the thicker your lines are going to be. You may get acquainted with your brush by taking it for a test run, make some lines on your plate to get a good feel for it! When creating thin branches, you want to make sure they look wispy and pointy, you may achieve this by lifting your brush off the canvas at the end of your branch. Bringing it back to being confident, you want to be confident with the first line you put down! It's okay if it's a little crooked because it'll look more natural that way, it's a tree branch and not meant to be straight. A small word of warning is trying your best not to trace over the branch again. Retracing lines will only make it look thicker, and that's the opposite objective.
Last but not least, once you are finished take a celebratory sip of your wine because YOU DID IT! This is what paint and sip is all about!
Let's paint, drink and have fun this Season!
Happy Holidays everyone!
