Paint a portrait of your pet at Project Pet. Once you sign up for the painting, email us a high quality digital photo of your pet (one pet per canvas, please) and we will do the rest. Each photo will be transferred onto a 16”X20” canvas. Our talented artists will walk you through the steps to create your very own Pet Portrait!

This is a specialty class that will be held INSIDE our fully sanitized studio. In the event that San Diego County returns to outside only restaurant rules, we reserve the right to make changes to this event and will notify all registered for the class of those changes.


Your pet photo submission deadline is Sunday, January 16th. If we do not receive your photo by that date, we unfortunately will have to cancel and refund your reservation.

A GREAT pet portrait starts with a GREAT photo!

Here are some tips for success:
1 pet per person/per photo (close ups turn out the best)
Highest resolution possible
Pet is clear and in the foreground with no furniture, objects, grass, etc. blocking any body parts
Background is NOT the same color as your pet (white on white) or gives a clear contrast
Pet is centered in the photo either FULL BODY or HEAD SHOT, with no cropped off edges.
Our best advice is to take a photo of your pet with the best camera you have outside during the day, under a shaded area (like your front porch, back patio, or inside near a window). Remember, the better your photo is, the easier the painting process will be.

  • Do you offer Virtual Classes and how do they work?

    Virtual classes are identified on our calendar with "Live Virtual Event" or see our Shop tab for recorded events. See a class description for more details. Pick up at studio or choose our reasonable shipping option where available. Videos are available for viewing after live events and for a designated for a limited time to view after the scheduled date as you wish.

  • What are the pickup times for Virtual class kits and take home kits?

    This changes occasionally. Currently, we are open for pickup 9:30-2:30 Tuesday - Friday, and whenever we have in person classes. See our schedule for those class times.

  • How Do I sign up for a class?

    Signing up is easy. Click the "Classes" link on the side of the page to view our calendar of paintings. Select which painting you would like to paint, type the number of seats you would like in the white box, and click "Add to Cart." Sign in if you are a Pinot Perks member. Follow the on-screen directions to complete the order. Contact us if you have trouble completing your order and we will walk you through the process.

  • What days are classes held?

    Most weeks, classes are held on Wednesdays or Thursdays, Friday, and Saturday evenings. We also occasionally have classes on other nights during the week & on Saturday & Sunday afternoons. We have added more classes on Tuesday evenings and weekend afternoons – view our class calendar to find out more!

  • What is your cancellation policy?

    For registrations for one or two painters 48 or more hours before class time a full refund can occur. You also have the option to put the paid value of reservation "On Hold" to be used later. From 24-48 hours before class time the reservation paid value can be transferred to another class. Loss of payment will occur for "no shows" or a cancellation with less than 24 hours notice.
