Mother's Day High
It's has been almost a week since Mother's Day, and we're still on our Mother's Day high. It's always a hectic day with picking up appetizers, setting up the classes and getting mimosas ready for guests to arrive. It's a fun kind of hectic, you know the kind before you're getting ready for a big party. We had two big parties to prepare for on Mother's Day, and both were a huge success! It is always so fun to see mothers and daughters, mothers and sons, families, generations of moms come out to have a fun day together. As soon as the moms walk through the door, you see everyone in the group automatically relax as if it's a reflex, because they know it's time to party. The time spent waiting for the painting to start was passed drinking a mimosas and mingling. The time spent painting was filled with smiles, laughter, singing, dancing and, of course, painting.
Most moms would cringe at the idea of working on Mother's Day, but when I work on Mother's Day, it's always a little extra special. I get to work with my mom, and this year, I brought my two littles along for the day as well...which ultimately added to the already hectic day, but worth it. Very few people have the privilege of working with their moms as well as bring their little ones with them, and it's not something I take for granted. I get to celebrate my mom every day by working with and learning from her. She's accomplished so much and is not only a wonderful mom, but phenomenal business partner. She, like most moms, deserve being celebrated every day. Mother's Day is great, and I really do like spoiling my mom on that day, but we should be spoiling our moms more than just ONE day out of the year. Because, let's be honest, moms can (and really) do it all!
