*** KEEPING UP WITH TRADITIONS***
There’s nothing like keeping beloved traditions alive with your family, each year. The memories that come along with annual traditions are priceless, and a great conversation-starter!
Some of the most-common traditions in the US include:
-‘Elf on a Shelf’ tradition. The kids love it and it (sometimes) keeps them on their best behavior!
-A visit to Santa! Do your research and find out what times of the day are best to this, like mid-week during the evening.
-Checking out the sparkling, magical holiday lights in your area. Get in the car, turn on your holiday playlist, and find brightly lit houses.
-Going ice skating and drinking hot cocoa
-Secret Santa: Pick names randomly and only give gifts to the person whose name you draw. Set a dollar limit to keep it even and have fun!
Which of these your traditions, too?!

*** MAKING NEW TRADITIONS***
There are tons of ways you and your loved ones can make some new traditions to start now, and carry throughout the many years to come. Check out these ideas for some fun new traditions:
-Organize a cookie-baking party. Invite friends and family, or a group of your kids’ friends. Ask everyone to bring their favorite holiday cookie recipe.
-Get a handful of friends together and go caroling. You’ll be surprised by how well-received your singing group is, even if you’re out of tune!
-Make holiday decorations yourself! Decorate windows with paper snowflakes, glue glitter onto pinecones and arrange in a bowl, and visit kid-friendly crafts sites to get creative and fun ideas that will involve your children.
***WE LOVE THE IDEA of making an ornament together, each year, and hanging it on the tree. It’ll be so nice to pull them all out every year and remember the fun you had making them together.
-Start a holiday village display. Add a new house or shop to your display each year.
-Find a giving tree that allows you to sponsor a family in need or purchase toys for children in need. Go shopping for the items together and donate them.
-Get your craft on
Christmas has become so commercial, it's easy to forget the real reason for the season. This year, try DIYing almost everything. Start with the festive decor, then take on your ornaments. Next up are the Christmas cards, and of course, a welcoming wreath! You could even give homemade presentsfor some truly thoughtful gifts. Everything you make will be extra special (and you'll save some money in the process).
We absolutely love the idea of making a Christmas ornament each year with loved ones. Spend time together making them and hang them up in the end. Think of the great memories you’ll have, each year when you take them out to display! <3 <3
