Ideas For A Virtual Girls’ Night IN!
This year has been pretty out of the ordinary in every way possible, and not being able to see friends and do our normal things in one of the worst parts about it…
BUT, with the current day and age, we’re lucky to have the pandemic hit us in 2020. From FaceTime and Zoom meetings, to email, texts, and phone call from anywhere, anytime, we’ve got the technology to help us through it.
It’s probably been a while since you’ve had a good (and much needed) ‘Girls’ Night’ (out or in), we we’ve come up with some ways you can enjoy time with friends this season (or anytime) and wanted to share them!
Here are some ways you can virtually reconnect with your friends for a fun ‘Girls’ Night IN’:
Craft Your Signature Drink Online!
Skillshare currently has a fun interactive course that allows you to explore your own palate, with the end result being the creation of your own signature cocktail! For making this a fun night with the girls, I recommend sending a supply list of items in advance to your invitees such as ice, a shaker, and drinking glass. To put a fun twist on things, have each girl exchange recipes at the end of the 30 minute course to try another person’s cocktail and share recipes.
— Wine and Cheese Tasting —
Sure, opening a bottle of what you have at home works just fine, but sampling the same sips can make you feel more connected when you can’t visit in person. That’s where virtual wine tastings come in. These online meetups let you chat with your BFF while trying a rosé you’ve both been eyeing. Here’s how you host a wine tasting with your pals online.
Play an Online Virtual Escape Room Together!
I’m not sure if you’ve heard of an “escape room” before, but they are so much fun! Whether in-person or virtually, they are a great way for your friends to put their problem-solving skills to use and solve a fun complex puzzle/mystery. Typically at the beginning of the game you are placed in a room, given a storyline, and must solve a sequence of puzzles or clues to escape from the room. Many websites offer these virtually now by using video conference technology such as Mystery Escape Room.

— Game Night —
Many board games can be adapted to play via video. Use Zoom’s whiteboard feature to play Pictionary. Check out How to Host a Virtual Game Night for additional ideas and tips.

Scavenger Hunt
Send your women in a race around their homes to return first with the item on the list OR let the group vote on the item that best meets the requirements. Here’s a list to get you started: a kitchen utensil, something furry, something that begins with the letter “b,” something you use every day, something that smells good, something round, something taller than 12 inches, something bumpy, something you can eat, something you don’t want to get wet, something heavier than a shoe, something smaller than a dollar bill.
— Watch A Movie —
YES! You can have a movie night with your girls and there are lots of options to do so. From starting the same movie or show at the same time on your individual devices to using a special program to watch, you can bond over a new kind of screen time!

(*Note: Suggested next is a book club and you can totally adapt that concept with a series that you watch once a week and meet to discuss!)
— Book Club —
Select a book and set a date and time to meet. If your local library allows online check-out of ebooks and your title is available, be sure to include instructions for your women to access it. Check out my post How to Host a Summer Book Club for additional suggestions.
