***Paint Your Pet, Your Way
Remember that our painting classes are where YOU get to express yourself, creativity, on the canvas! There's no right or wrong way to do it, and that being said, we’ve had a large percentage of our customers, stray from the way the original artwork looks and create their own version! Paintings that have silhouettes like trees and people in them would look adorable with a dog silhouette added in! Remember to keep your pup and kitty in mind when making your artwork!
*** Painting For A Good Cause
Keep an eye on our calendar for our 'Painting It Forward' classes, as many of them are pet-related! Come in and paint, drink, and raise money for a great cause like a local animal shelter or other animal-related non-profit or charity!
Ask us about how you can help raise money for your own personal cause through our PIF classes! :)

— Fun games to play with your dog this Summer —
*Train Your Pet to Find a Hidden Toy
Discover your canine's proclivity for search and rescue work by hand-placing, rather than throwing, one of his favorite toys in front of him while he watches from a stay position or someone holds him. Then release him to go find the toy. For dogs not as crazy about toys, you can hide a food puzzle or chew bone in the yard for them to find in a similar manner. Once the dog catches on, you can up the difficulty by hiding the toy in harder-to-find places, such as in taller grass or under a bucket, as well as putting the dog in a separate area, such as inside the house, before giving the command to "find it." The game challenges the dog to use his sense of smell, rather than a visual stimulus, to find his target. Then, play a game of fetch or tug as a reward for finding the
*Bubble Pop!
Kids love bubbles. But guess what? Dogs do, too! Bubble-chasing mimics predatory behavior such as preying on small animals like birds or bugs. Dogs are readily entertained by observing, chasing or snapping at passing bubbles. Just be sure to use pet-safe bubbles that are nontoxic if they get near your dog's eyes or are accidentally ingested.

*Play With Water
Chasing after water from a moving outdoor hose is easy entertainment for many water-friendly dogs. Some dogs are delighted to join you in a game of chase as they follow you through the sprinklers. There are even dog toys filled with water to keep them cool during the summer months, such as the Hydro Saucer and Hydro Ball. Or, take a field day with your dog to a canine-friendly beach and play chase in the shallow water (away from strong currents) or toss floatable toys in the water for him to chase. Be sure to use a canine life jacket, like Ruffwear.

— REMEMBER… SAFETY FIRST THIS SUMMER —
With the heat of the summer days, its super important to remember to keep our dog’s safety in mind.
*Pavement heat:
We all know not to leave our dogs in a car when it’s warm outside (or any time of year, really). The pads of a dog’s foot are just as thin as our skin so if it’s too hot for you to walk barefoot, its too hot for them!
***Asphalt temperature and the outdoor temperature are two very different things. When the outside air temperature is 77 degrees the asphalt in the sun is 125 degrees. You can fry and egg at 131 degrees just imagine how your dog feels as you drag him along to the farmers market or outdoor festival being held on asphalt.
While your best option is to always walk your dog in the morning or evening when the temp is much lower, a good way to test the pavement before taking your fur baby out is to place the back of your hand against the pavement and hold it there for 10 seconds… if it’s uncomfortable for you to leave your skin there, then you shouldn’t make your dog do it. You can also try walking on it barefoot yourself.
*Car temperatures:
While it’s never a great idea to leave a dog inside of a vehicle, we know there are rare times throughout the year when you’re running in to the store or somewhere that will just take a moment… just remember that this time of year is a very risky season to leave your pooch in the car, even for a few minutes.
***When the outside temperature is 70 degrees, a car can heat up to 89 degrees in just 10 minutes, and to 104 in 30 minutes. At 80 degrees outside, you’re looking at 99 degrees inside a vehicle in 10 minutes and 114 in 30 minutes. At 95 degrees, it only takes 10 minutes to reach 114 degrees and the temperature soars to 129 degrees in 30 minutes.
