What’s What In Fashion Trends For Spring & Summer, 2018?!
Spring and Summer’s most recent fashion trends were spotted on the runways last Fall featuring all of the top designers, giving us a glimpse into what’s hot for the season. From the rustic look of plaid to the polished style of shine, and from the light and subtle pastel hues to the bold and alluring, saturated colors, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Whether you’re typically someone who thrives on staying with the most current fashion trends OR someone who admires them from the pages of the magazines, wondering how it would look on you, fashion is a constant in our lives and something we should all enjoy! Check out some of the most current trends, and be on the lookout for them in the stores. You’ll notice how the things that appear on the runway in their stunning (but oftentimes a bit too dramatic) looks, influence what your favorite stores carry, then it’s up to you to decide how to wear them! Go bold and try some head to toe fringe, or just grab a pair of fringed earrings to play along with the trend... it’s you’re style, so remember to make it work for you!
SPRING & SUMMER FASHION TRENDS 2018:
**This Is ‘Purple’s’ Year:
‘LAVENDER' is the color that will dominate the whole summer season. Romantic yet elegant, you can wear it on a masculine suit or a light garment that gets billowy with every step.
Pantone’s 2018 color of the year is ‘ULTRA VIOLET'. A color that intrigues with its hybrid, mysterious nature, associated with the seventh chakra, where the human meets the divine. ‘Experiment’ is the word.
**Shorts that go long
Every season, an unlikely style emerges from the archives to take over our wardrobes. This spring, it’s the Bermuda short; this time, it’s back in fantastic prints and pastels.
If you’re skeptical of Bermuda shorts beyond resort wear, there's one accessory that's key for taking the silhouette from cruise ship to street style: The shoe that it's paired with.
Your shoe choice is really important to make this look elevated. Try some scrappy high heels or embellished low heels.
**Bold, saturated color
Bright hues that are being called, "paintbox colors”, are being praised by both, high-end designers, and fast-fashion retailers who are starting to go all-out with statement shades for Spring and Summer. While the really warm temperatures of Late Spring and Early Summer may still be a few weeks away, we're already looking to dive headfirst into these bold shades in a big way.
If you need a little inspiration, the spring 2018 runways had some lust-worthy examples, from electric fuchsias at Tom Ford's '80s-inspired power show to Calvin Klein 205W39NYC's show, featured yellow trousers.
**Strappy heels
To be fair, the strappy stiletto has never fully been off the radar of the runways, but the excitement around them has undoubtedly calmed with the appearance (and acceptance) of thick and comfy forms of “dress shoes” that have risen to the top throughout the years. Always a classic and sophisticated look, the delicate and visually-appealing straps of a heeled shoe will work every time (and with every outfit).
*Not all about those scrappy heels? Try out one of the other show trends for the season like a pair of flat slides or chunky, low heels.

**Plaid on plaid (checks were seen in the runway)
While traditional tartan and plaid are staples for fall, many designers and street style stars have recently abandoned the print's kilt-like, punk iterations and given it a new, bright beginning. "This season, trusty florals are making way for a jumbled mess of patterns and blurred lines made popular by both Scottish clansmen and the '90s princesses of Beverly Hills."
Yes, you can officially wear plaid in the spring.

**Shine on shine (lots of sequins were seen on the runway)
If allout shine is too intimidating, the look can still come together with an item or two. It’s always nice to offset a sparkly statement piece with a simple (and not-so-shiney) top! Even a simple, cotton t-shirt will look dressy under a sparkly necklace!
**Fringe
If fringe isn't your thing, your mind can likely be changed by viewing some of the hottest looks from the runway this year! Be conscious of the newest arrivals in your favorites stores, and you’ll see this fun and flirty trend everywhere from shirts and skirts to bags and earrings! Some designers introduced the look sparingly on accent pieces — bags and bustiers — while others went all out with technicolor and layers. Suffice to say, there's something for everyone with this showstopping finish.
**Pastels
While pastels for Springtime, might seem like a cliche, they will always be in style for the season!
Lavender s taking over this year!
Millennial pink's had its moment, but the Spring '18 runways are pointing to the next big color takeover — and it's shades of soft lavender on everything from sequined dresses to oversize knits and sharp suit sets. Spoiler: it happens to look great on everything.
**Straw bags
With rising temperatures, days spent under the sun and family vacations on the horizon, we’re taking full advantage of this season’s “it” accessory: the straw bag! There is a reason why this Bohemian-inspired bag trend returns season after season. It is the ideal accessory for storing all of your beach essentials, adding a punch of effortless color to your look or simply giving your spring and summer ensembles a beachy vibe. In this list, you’ll find our favorite styles for a night out, a day at the beach and everything in between. Here are the straw bags you need this spring!
