Find Your New Workout Craze
Happy February! For those of you who have kept your new year’s resolution to workout, way to go! But maybe you’ve hit a plateau. If the same old gym routine is weighing on you, try out some of these new workout crazes to shake things up- literally! For those with rhythm: hip hop dance
It’s like Zumba turned way up. After you get past some awkwardness and self-consciousness starting out, you’ll soon discover your inner performer. This class will have you feeling sexy and free in no time. Plus, you’ll have some new moves for the dance floor.
For those with major sex appeal: stiletto fitness
This is hip hop dance class taken to the next level. In this class, you wear stilettos. A choreographer will have you working up a sweat learning a dance to a hot song as you unleash your inner Britney or Beyonce. Extra points if you leave your hair down and whip it around!
For those seeking core strength: aerial pole
Quite like pole dancing classes (also a great workout) these classes give you a total body workout with an emphasis on building your upper body strength and core. And you’ll learn lots of cool tricks and flips.
For those who need zen: aerial yoga
Like traditional yoga, you’re encouraged to focus and challenge your body, except that in these classes, you’re suspended in the air, balancing and stretching on big pieces of fabric. The aerial element helps you do more than you could on the floor, with less stress on your back.
For those who need zen and a good beat: hip hop yoga
This is the next generation of yoga. While the practice and poses are the same, there’s a much different vibe from traditional yoga. You’ll keep an athletic pace to your practice while hearing up-tempo, hot songs.
For those who don’t want to leave the house: get digital!
Experts predict that convenience will remain king in 2017 and see even more apps, online training and virtual studios, Facebook Live feeds, and Instagram tutorials. Many of these options are free or low-cost, and available anytime.
Keep up the good work, everyone! And most importantly, have fun!
