Acrylic It Up
Here at Pinot's Palette, we use a wet painting technique with acrylic paints.Believe it or not, acrylic is a mixture of pigment in a thermoplastic polymer emulsion--essentially, plastic! Because of this, they dry very quickly when exposed to air and become water resistant (perfect for those accidental alcohol spills!)
Depending on how much water is used, acrylic paint can take on many characteristics, making it very versatile. It's also very beginner-friendly and forgiving of mistakes. They can make smooth washes or textured ridges. The concentration of pigment is very robust, easily capturing pale and vibrant shades as well as florescent on the canvas.
Bob Ross may have inspired the world with oil paints, but we're pretty fond of our acrylic creations. :)
