** Here Are Some Tips for Choosing a Painting for a Painting and Wine Class **
--- Skill Level ---
Consider your experience with painting. Choose a piece that matches your comfort level, whether you’re a beginner or more advanced. The majority of attendees are brand new to painting, so their "skill level" might be considered low... BUT with our step-by-step directions for each and every painting, we can help ANYONE to make ANY of the artwork on the calendar. That being said, if you're nervous about painting for the first time or are unsure of how you will do, we always suggest a landscape or floral painting to start with! We have an abundance of them on our calendar and these are great because unlike the painting of a human or animal, there is not "right way" to create it! Flowers and trees lend themselves to being "imperfect" with crooked lines for branches or an accidental paint splotch as am "I meant to put that there" concept on some flowers.
--- Personal Interest ---
Select a painting that resonates with your interests or hobbies. This could be anything from landscapes and florals to abstract designs or animals.
--- Color Scheme ---
Think about where you might display the painting. Choose colors that will complement your home decor or the intended display space. ***It is important to note that we have a large variety of colors and you are welcome to change the colors of your artwork to match what YOU want... Rather than what the original painting looks like and what others in the class are doing. Simply let one of our instructors know what you're aiming to do with your painting and they will help you to get the right colors you need (AND they can help you to mix the shades you want!)
--- Complexity ---
Evaluate the complexity of the painting. Simpler designs are great for beginners, while more intricate pieces offer a fun challenge for experienced painters. The ones where you have to draw an actual figure, like an animal or the human form, tend to be a little more difficult, as there is more structure to the lesson, ensuring your work of art will turn out the best way!
--- Class Atmosphere ---
Consider the overall vibe of the class. If you’re looking for a laid-back experience, choose a painting that encourages creativity and relaxation. When we have earlier or daytime classes, they're a little less-likely to be as full or loud as our nighttime ones, where it's like a little art party; People singing to music, cheers-ing with a few glasses of wine, and catching up with loved ones as they paint.
--- Group Consensus ---
If attending with friends or family, discuss and agree on a painting that everyone will enjoy and feel comfortable creating. Maybe you're coming in for a friend's birthday celebration or with your significant other for Date Night. You can select the painting that you know they'll love, or let them decide!
--- Seasonal Themes ---
Opt for seasonal or holiday-themed paintings if you want your artwork to reflect a specific time of year or upcoming celebration. We ALWAYS have plenty of artwork on the calendar that coincides with the season (and the upcoming holidays), so you're sure to have a great selection!
--- Artist Inspiration ---
Choose a painting inspired by a favorite artist or art movement to add an element of personal significance and inspiration.
--- Emotional Connection ---
Pick a painting that evokes a positive emotional response or holds special meaning for you, making the experience more enjoyable and memorable.
