Frequently Asked Questions
Is your studio BYOB?
We do not have a BYOB license. We DO however have an AMAZING bar with excellent drink crafters who will take great care of you!
When should I arrive for class?
30 minutes before scheduled start time. Class MUST start at scheduled time to be fair to all who are attending. Please arrive 30 minutes before class starts to allow time to get settled in, grab a drink from our bar and mingle before the painting starts.
How do I sign up for a class?
To reserve a seat for one of our paint parties, click on our home page and scroll through our upcoming events or visit our ‘Event Calendar’ to view our full upcoming calendar of events. Click on the painting of your choice. To reserve a seat, click the ‘Register’ button and follow the on-screen directions to complete the order. Please contact us if you have any trouble completing your order. We will help you trouble shoot the issue or simply take your reservation by phone.
Is there an age limit for your regular public classes?
We welcome families and children ages 6 years and above for any of our daytime paint parties. While our evening classes that begin after 5 pm are structured for adults, we do allow guests aged 13 – 17 to participate if they are accompanied by an adult. All guests must be at least 21 years of age to purchase or consume alcohol.
What should I wear to paint?
No dress code here...dress casual or dress up! We provide all guests with an apron, but painters have been known to get involved in their work of art. Should any acrylic paint get on your clothes, it can typically be washed out within 60 seconds. If allowed to set longer, the paint may be permanent.
I don’t have any artistic talent? Will I be able to complete the painting?
Absolutely! Our paint parties are intended for beginners, but are also fun for more seasoned artists. Our artist will guide you step-by-step through the featured painting. You can follow along as much, or as little, as you’d like. Feel free to choose a different color from our paint cart, add in your own detail or paint another image entirely. We encourage creativity and there are no mistakes! Acrylic paint dries quickly, so making changes or perfecting your painting is easy to do.
Is there parking near your studio?
Street parking is available all along Milwaukee, Kimball and Diversey Avenues. While parking in some areas is free, most parking is $2/hr. Using the ‘Park Chicago’ app makes paying for parking a breeze. We are also just steps from the Blue Line Logan Square stop (exit the L platform towards Spaulding Ave).
Do I need to bring anything to my class or party?
You don’t need to bring anything but yourself, but you are welcome to bring in food or snacks if you’d like. We provide paper plates, napkins and plastic ware. Delivery menus are available at the bar, along with complementary bottled water. We provide all the art supplies - canvas, easel, brushes, paints, and apron for your use during the party. We also have a full-service bar. Beer, wine, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages are available for purchase. We are not a BYOB establishment and outside beverages are not permitted. Our bartenders will take great care of you!
Is there reserved seating?
Yes, we do have reserved seating. We have all your art supplies set up for you along with your name at your seat before you arrive for class. If you have friends attending the same party, please let us know when you make your reservation or you can send us an email and we’ll make every effort to seat you together. Our Pinot Perks rewards members at the Collector or Connoisseur Level receive priority seating.
What is the cancellation policy?
Due to the custom nature of our parties and classes, refunds are not issued for reservation cancellations. Should you need to reschedule your reservation and provide at least 48 hours notice, your reservation will be transferred to a studio credit that can be used only for a future paint party reservation at our Logan Square studio. Please email us at logansquareIl@pinotspalette.com if you need to cancel. If you 'no-show' for a party or class that you have a spot reserved, or do not give at least 48 hours cancellation notice, you forfeit your reservation payment.
When is your next month's calendar posted?
We post the next month's event calendar around the 15th of the month prior. If you'd like to receive an email each month when our new calendar is posted, join our newsletter, which you can do at the bottom of our home page. And if you need to plan in advance, just call the studio and we'll help you out!
What does a class cost?
You can find the cost for each paint party by hovering over the painting image on our event calendar. Keep an eye out for monthly specials! Most of our 2 hour classes are $42 per painter; Project Pet is $75 per painter.
