Art Classes for Special Needs Kids and Adults

Here at Pinot's Palette in Lexington Center we love reaching out to our local community to host events for all kinds of groups. Throughout the past year we have hosted numerous events for the Lexington High School LABBB teens as well as for local nursing home clients with disabilities and developmental issues. It is so wonderful to see these guests open up and express themselves through creativity, color, and team work.
The Lexington High School LABBB teens had the awesome task of creating multiple collages made of 6 separate canvases that come together as one big image. Within the painting they were able to express their individuality with special details and personal touches. Many of the kids who were normally reserved came out of their shell to have a great time with their peers spreading colors and making beautiful imagery.
With the support of their families and staff members, the groups who came from the nursing homes painted their own personalized versions of some of our studio favorites, displaying their unique personalities and styles. Even those who have trouble speaking had no problem expressing themselves through movement and color.
We look forward to hosting more of these event in the future, spreading the arts to our community and coming together for team building and creative expression.
