What is the cost of a private in studio event?

There is a Private studio event fee of $100 for in studio events. *Additional time can be added to your party reservation at $50/per half hour and will be added to parties who exceed their scheduled time.

Is there a minimum number of people required for private events?

YES. # of paid guests required: 12 on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, 15 on Thursday, 20 on Friday, Saturday, Sunday Day classes, 30 on Friday or Saturday night (7-9pm slot) . If you have fewer than the required guests, you would need to pay for the minimum number or you are welcome to have your group join a public class and we will seat you all together.

What is the cost of a mobile event?

There is a fee of $100 or more (depending on mileage) for mobile events. Cost is $38/person for a 2 hour event, and $48/person for a 3 hour event (based on painting choice). *Additional time can be added to your party reservation at $50/per half hour and will be added to parties who exceed their scheduled time.

What is included with a private event?

Our events include your choice of 10x10, 11x14, or 16x20 (or 10x30 based on painting choice), 2 Artists, and everything needed to paint your masterpiece!

Can we do a private event for a small group of 6-8 people?

YES! We have a room off our main studio where we can do groups of up to 10.

Do you do kids' parties?

YES!. We do kids' parties in our small group room for up to 10 kids. 11x14 canvas, 1.5 hour class. Cost is $279 for up to 6 guests, and $359 for up to 10 guests.

Do you ask for vaccine cards?

We do not inquire about vaccination status. Because we are a restaurant, masks are not required while you are seated at your table and eating/drinking.

What hours do you answer phones?

We typically answer our phones throughout each day if we are available. However, we generally do not answer our phones while classes are in progress. Please leave a message and we will return your call when classes have ended for the day or during our studio hours Mon-Fri 11am-4pm.

Is there an age limit?

Our Elk Grove studio is open to all ages. All classes are open to any age unless otherwise specified. watch for our monthly family collaboration paintings and Little Brushes classes great for the younger crowd!

How do I sign up for class?

Signing up is easy. Click the event calendar tab to view our current schedule. Select which painting you would like to paint and click "Add Painting to Cart." Follow the on-screen directions to complete the order. Contact us if you have trouble completing your order and we will walk you through the process.

How early can we arrive?

We ask guests to arrive 20-30 minutes prior to the start time of class so everyone can get settled and order at the bar. We begin class ON TIME.

Can I arrive Late?

We ask that you do not arrive late. If you do arrive late, you will have to paint on your own as we cannot disrupt the rest of the class by instructing late arrivals.

Is beer or wine included or can I bring my own?

California liquor laws do not allow us to include alcohol with the painting class fee. We feature local wine, craft beer, hard cider and nonalcoholic beverages for purchase by the glass or bottle. You may bring your own sealed bottle of wine for our bartender to open and serve-we do have a $10/bottle corkage fee-NO EXCEPTIONS..NO OTHER OUTSIDE ALCOHOL IS ALLOWED (No individual/tiny bottles allowed -we will ask you to put it away) PEOPLE!! Please don't make it awkward for everyone by trying to sneak it in. WE WILL SEE IT. Please bring it directly to the bar upon entry. And don't forget your ID!

What is the cancellation policy for class reservations?

Pinot's Palette cancellation and refund policy is as follows: If you need to cancel your reservation, please contact the studio at (916) 895-2627. Within 48 hours of a class, we are happy to issue a studio credit that can be used toward a future class (within 60 days). Cancellations more than 48 in advance will be offered a studio credit. If desired, you may obtain a refund for the class transaction amount minus a fee to cover administrative labor and merchant services costs associated with card transactions. A $6 Service Fee per transaction will apply to all requested refunds $100 and under, or 6% of sales total over $100. There are no refunds for Paint Kits at any time or any virtual class once the video link has been sent to the customer (day of the scheduled event for virtual events purchased from the calendar).Reservations cancelled due to mandated government shutdown, inclement weather or other emergencies will be sent a complimentary credit to be used toward a future class within 60 days.

What is a take home kit?

Our take home kit includes paper plates for mixing, 10x10 (child) or 11x14(adult) Canvas, paint, brushes, disposable apron and written painting instructions.

How does the recorded video work?

Purchase the video only to view for 7 days or select the kit option you want if you need supplies. Each kit includes paper plates for mixing, Canvas, paint, disposable apron and instructions to set up your paint station. Kits are available with or without brushes. Large kits include a 16"x20" canvas or 10"x30" canvas. Small kits include an 11"x14" canvas. We do our best to send the link for viewing within 48 hours of purchase. Watch for our special event videos that give you extended viewing time (great to use for gifts)

How do I get my Virtual supplies or take home kits?

We are open Tues, Thurs and Fri 11am to 2pm for pickup. You may also come in to the studio anytime we are in studio for a class. You can also call the studio to make special arrangements.

Do you have virtual events?

Yes, we can do virtual events for any occasion. They are live and totally interactive with the instructor and other guests! For as few as 6 or as many as you want-we have no top limit! Club looking for something new to do, employee appreciation-even if your employees are in other states, family reunion with people all across the world!

Do you sell gift Certificates?

Yes, we do. You can purchase online and choose email-you will get an image sent directly to your email that you can print. Or you can come into our studio to purchase. Gift certificates can be for any amount and can be used to purchase classes, products or items at the bar.

I want to paint a certain painting but it's not on the calendar?

Just ask! Most of the time, we can find a way to get it on the calendar!

Is there reserved seating?

If you have a friend or group that you would like to sit with, enter their names in the seating request box at check out. We have reserved seating at specific tables for our PERKS Members when available. Feel free to email us at if you have questions. We cannot hold seats without payment in full.

Where are you located?

We are on Elk Grove Blvd, in old town Elk Grove across from Bank of America.

Where do we park?

You can park in front and in rear of the building.

When does the next calendar get posted?

We try to post the next month's calendar around the 15th of the month. If you'd like to receive an email each month when our new calendar is posted, be sure to sign up for our newsletter.

My event is virtual but the email I got says the doors open 30 minutes prior?

Our emails are automated and were not intended for the purpose of virtual events. We do, however, open the Zoom link for virtual classes approx 30 minutes prior to class begin time.

I have never painted before. Will I be able to do this?

Absolutely! Our artist will guide you step-by-step through the featured painting and will ensure that you stay on track to complete your masterpiece by the end of class. Don't hesitate to ask for help, we are here for you! Our goal is to offer you an exceptionally fun night out!

What should I wear to Class?

No dress code here...dress casual or dress up. We will provide you with an apron but painters have been known to get involved in their work of art and some paintings involve splattering techniques which can get a little messy. You have about one minute to remove acrylic paint from your clothing or it's your Pinot's Palette souvenir! Make sure you wear a smile!

Do you do fundraisers?

Yes! We love doing fundraisers for local groups and school programs. You must provide your 501c for every event. We do fundraisers on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We can do in studio, virtual or both. Contact our studio at to get yours started.

How do I choose a painting for our private event?

If you have booked a private event with us, we ask that you choose 3 options and let us know at least 1 week before your event:
