AURORA The Science, the Beauty
Okay, we know they are gorgeous, but what exactly makes an aurora? An aurora is an electric charged color collision, occurring when particles from our atmosphere collide with charged particles from the sun’s atmosphere… Green results from low oxygen, red high-altitude oxygen, and nitrogen causes purple or blue.
The outcome is stunning! When it comes to auroras, the sky itself can sometimes look like abstract art, with swirling colors from greens to blues or even purples and reds. This makes it a great natural element of beauty to depict in a beginner art class. Emily Dickenson once wrote a line that reads “Aurora is the effort Of the Celestial Face, Unconscious of Perfectness…” A little effort goes along way with these paintings…Here are a few of our upcoming aurora classes, which color speaks to you!?
