Memorial Day
When you live in a successful and wealthy country, it is easy to take advantage of our freedoms. We tend to forget that all of these freedoms came at a very steep price. The men and women in our Armed Forces truly deserve to be appreciated every day, but especially on Memorial Day.They have sacrificed their stability, safety, family time, among many other things, some of whom sacrificed their life. All of these sacrifices were purely because they believed in our country and want to keep each one of their fellow citizens safe. It is a truly selfless act that is commendable to say the least. Many of us think of Memorial Day as the start of summer. We all love summer because we get to enjoy sunshine, boating, camping etc. Meanwhile, there are thousands of soldiers that are away from their families and are dodging bombs and bullets. It is so important that we remember that this is much more than a three day weekend. This is a day to mourn those we’ve lost in the line of duty and to see a stranger in uniform and thank them for all they have done so that you and I can continue to enjoy our freedom. God bless all that have served, all that are still serving, and those that we’ve lost and finally, God bless the United States of America!
