Artist Spotlight: Roxie Vela

Roxie’s journey as an artist began all the way back to finger painting in kindergarten. Her love her art drove her to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts, as she found it incredibly therapeutic. She taught Kindergarten through eighth grade art for over four years full time, preparing her for a more daunting task: instructing at Pinot’s Palette! “Honestly teaching adults isn’t much different from teaching children,” Roxie says with a laugh. “I enjoying meeting new people, and everyone’s interpretations of the paintings we teach really amaze me.” Taking a little break from the bustle of day-to-day life is one of her favorite parts of teaching at Pinot’s Palette.
Roxie is a cat mom of two kitty boys, and would love to tell you all about them during your class. Roxie can be found teaching during the week, as well as weekends, so be sure to stop in and give her a warm greeting!
