Where the Wild Flowers Are
One of the best kept secrets in Southern California are the annual wild flower blooms one can experience within a short drive from Orange County. California wildflower blooms can be spectacular but very fleeting and heavily dependent on the seasonal rainfall. The good news is that the record setting rainfall this winter has set the stage for a wildflower bonanza!!!
Best Places to see California Wildflowers:
1) Anza Borrego Desert State Park: Located south of Palm Springs this 600,000 acre national park often puts on the best desert wildflower show in California. The blooms start early Feb and can last up to March. You should check this year's blooms status before you go.

4) Death Valley: It doesn't happen every year, but this year's rain have created the perfect combination for wildflowers to bloom in the desert. Death Valley's wildflower displays are eye-popping, especially since they occur in a landscape so devoid of color the rest of the year.
