Start the New Year Right at Pinot’s Palette
The New Year always brings in fresh changes that we are eager to dive into. But how do you keep yourself from abandoning some of those resolutions before you see them through? Here’s some of our New Year’s resolutions at Pinot’s Palette and how you can keep yourself motivated this year.
• Get Creative: We get it, you can’t draw stick figures to save your life, but that shouldn’t stop you from flexing your creative muscles. Creativity can start anywhere, from writing a little poem for yourself each day to doodling on your work notebook. Having a creative outlet has been proven to reduce stress and promote healthy states of mind. Take a moment of each day to push your creative limits, and you’ll be surprised with the results.
• Set Reasonable Goals: “I’m going to cut sugar completely out of my diet!” may sound reasonable, but within weeks the motivation for such a task can sputter out quicker than you may think. Instead, set small goals that are easily attainable to start, such as, “I’ll treat myself only once a week.” This way you won’t burn yourself out or guilt yourself for not sticking to the big goals. Baby steps, friends.
• Enjoy Yourself: Daily stresses can bog us down so easily, and while it is important to hold yourself accountable, it is equally important to give yourself a break every once and awhile. Make opportunities for you, your family, and your friends to get an escape from those daily stresses by having a once a month fun date. A small way of unwinding will do wonders for your stress levels, and may unlock some activities you would have never tried otherwise. The sky’s the limit!
