Painting It Forward Progress Report
As originally announced by the Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce on their website, Pinot's Palette - Princeton is launching a year-long Painting it Forward campaign to feature and benefit local non-profit organizations. For each month of the first year in business, they will hold a charity event where the chosen non-profit will receive the proceeds of the painting sales for that event.
Three months after opening our paint and sip studio, we are proud to report that we have held four fundraisers for non-profit community organizations who are doing good work in the Princeton area. In addition to Habitat for Humanity of Trenton and the Eden School (highlighted in two other blog postings), proceeds of successful fundraisers have been given to:
Junior League of Greater Princeton (“Tree of Inspiration”--Wednesday, February 24th). A 95-year history of serving the Greater Princeton community in a variety of civic, non-profit and business leadership roles, and of effectively training women leaders. It is an organization of women who are committed to promoting voluntarism, developing women’s potential, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
Princeton Youth Ballet (“Poppies a la Van Gogh”--Sunday, February 21st). Founded 10 years ago, as a premier pre-professional company, Princeton Youth Ballet’s mission is to give talented young dancers the opportunity to perform at a professional level and to invite the community to fall in love with classical ballet through inspired storytelling, magical productions, and uncompromising artistry. As a not-for-profit organization, they rely on the generosity of volunteers and donors to help with performance preparation, costume and set production, and ongoing annual operational costs.
We think "Paint. Drink. Have Fun." is a great fundraising vehicle and we look forward to the additional opportunities we will have in the months ahead to make our contribution to the Princeton area community.
