Frequently Asked Questions
All I can draw is a stick figure, is Pinot's Palette for me?
The beauty of our classes at Pinot's Palette - is that no previous art experience or ability is required or needed in order to still bring a masterpiece home at the end of your class! Our artist will lead you and guide you step-by-step through the featured painting and will ensure that you stay on track to completing your masterpiece by the end of class. There are no mistakes in art, so jump in and follow along!
How do I sign up for a Public Class advertised on your calendar?
Signing up is easy. Click the "Classes" link on the side of the page to view our calendar of paintings. Select which painting you would like to paint, type the number of seats in the white box and click "Add to Cart." Sign in if you are a Pinot Perks member and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the order. You will also be given the option for seating requests where you can request to be seated near those within your circle.
Is there an age requirement for our Public Classes?
Due to the nature of our classes, it is recommended that our guests are at least 18 years of age. Those 13-17 years of age are also welcome, but only with a paid adult in the same class. We also run "Little Brushes" and "Family Event" Classes throughout the week for our younger artists. Please review our calendar for those specific classes.
Do I need to reserve a seat to a Public Class ahead of time?
Our "shows" have limited seats, so it is recommeded to reserve a seat prior to class, as it may sell out by class time. Also, reserving your seat ahead of time, allows you to input your seating choice so that you may sit close to those attending the class with you.
Can I walk in on the day of a Public Class and buy a seat on the spot?
As long as a class is not sold out, and there are available seats for those in your party, than "yes" absolutely! We would love to have you and can quickly set you up with a canvas and all the supplies you will need to complete your painting. Feel free to call our studio before the class to verify if there are any seats left available.
What is the recommended arrival time?
Our "shows" begin promptly on time to the date published. We recommend you arrive 15-30 minutes before class starts to allow time for you to get settled in and mingle with friends and order a beverage before the painting starts. If you do arrive late, we will try to get you caught up with your painting, but if you arrive more than 20 minutes late, you will need to join the class at your own discretion and your seat may be moved toward the back of the room so that when you do arrive there is little disruption to the class.
What is your cancellation policy for Public Events?
Our public events are like buying tickets to a show as seats are limited. Therefore, we want to respect the integrity of "the show" and our artists. However, we will allow a Full Refund if you notify us of the need to cancel your ticket to the show with at least 72 hours (3 days) notice. If you are not able to provide notice within 72 hours, we will work with you to transfer your reservation to another "show". If you do not notify is by email or phone, and are considered a "no show" for the public painting event, there will be no refunds nor transfer the reservation to another class.
What is your cancellation policy for Private Events?
Our Private Party Room is highly sought after and considerable time and effort is spent in planning your special event. If you do need to cancel we do ask for a week's notice (7 days before your event) for a full refund of your deposit and any funds paid toward the event. If you contact us to cancel your private event between seven days to two days before the party, your deposit will be forfeited, but we will work with you to transfer your seats already bought to a public event. If you need to cancel less than 48 hours (2 days) prior to the event, all monies will be forfeited including your deposit and seats sold.
Do you have a bar?
We do have a full bar with a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic options for purchase. BYOB is not allowed by our liquor license.Guests wishing to purchase an alcoholic beverage will need to show proof of legal age, so please bring your ID.
Do you serve food and/or appetizers/hors d'oeuvres?
We will have a limited menu for appetizer/hors d'oeuvres. These will be advertised at the studio and available for purchase.
Do you have classes for kids and families to enjoy?
Yes. Check our calendar for family oriented classes where the recommended age is 5+. If an adult has a baby or toddler in a Little Brushes or Family Event, they may be asked to leave the premises to quiet the baby/toddler if there is a disruption to the class or to the enjoyment of our other guests.
What should I wear to classes?
It's up to you...there is no dress code. We will provide you with an apron to protect your clothing but artists have been known to become part of their work of art. The acrylic paint we use will come out of your skin, hair, nails and hard surfaces such as jewelry but it will not come out of clothing or materials once it dries. Notify our staff of any spots as soon as they occur and we will do our best to help you get them out. We are not responsible for any permanent damage caused by wet paint, so please dress accordingly and cover up items of clothing which are of value to you.
What happens if there is inclement weather in the area, either at the studio or from where I am traveling from?
Inclement weather can occur from time-to-time, and we do want our guests to remain safe. If weather causes us to cancel class, you will receive a class credit for a future date of your choice. If our studio is open and you choose to not come to the event due to inclement weather, you will receive a class credit for a future class good for 30 days if you request the credit at least 4 hours prior to the start of the event.
