Disconnect to Reconnect
Facebook. Instagram. Snapchat. The list goes on.
Social media is both a blessing and a curse, a communicative double-edged sword that pierces us and the communal circles we thrive in. For some, it is the only way they can keep in touch with their loved ones, but for many others social media is a platform that has mesmerized us like fish in a pond… hook, line and sinker. We like to think it is a suitable replacement for live socialization, but the virtual net has tricked us into thinking so. Does it even matter what the latest Facebook craze is or even why Thursdays are so important on Instagram?
Though it may be precipitating inches of rain it is no reason to stay indoors huddled around our tablets, laptops, and phones. It’s time we disconnect from those distractions to reconnect with family and friends. So put down those devices, step away from the social media and grab your ponchos and umbrellas. Let us paint our way to a sunny, device-less 2017 by joining us here at the studio for a bright new year.
