Frequently Asked Questions
What are the age requirements?
You must be at least 18 years old to attend a public class (13 to 17 if accompanied by an adult). Family Day classes are for ages 7+ (7 to 17 must be accompanied by an adult). Due to the nature of our classes, and for the enjoyment of all of our guests, we cannot accommodate babies or toddlers. All guests must have a paid seat and paint their own canvas.
Can I just walk-in or do I need a reservation?
We do take walk-ins but we highly recommend making a reservation in case the class sells out. We have assigned seating so if you want to ensure you can sit with your friends, everyone should have a reservation. If you do walk-in, please arrive at least 30 minutes early so we can get you set up and settled in.
What happens if I have to cancel my class reservation?
If you cancel with at least 48 hours notice you can get a full refund or you can put your class on hold for a later date. With at least 24 hours notice, you can put your class on hold for another date. Notice inside of 24 hours or if you are a "no show" will result in loss of payment.
Is wine included in the class price?
Wine is not included because some guests choose not to drink while they are painting. Your bar tab (if any) is extra.
Can we bring our own wine?
No, our license does not allow BYOB but we do carry a wide selection of wines for your enjoyment.
What are your prices?
The vast majority of our classes are $42 for a 2 hour painting but we do offer Family Day classes (primarily on Saturday afternoons) at $35 per painter and specialty classes for which prices vary. Check our Event Calendar for specific class pricing.
What is the minimum and maximum number of guests for a private party?
Events in the Charleston Room require a minimum of 12 paying guests and a maximum of 32 guests for a portrait-oriented painting and 28 for a landscape-oriented painting. Events in the Main Studio require a minimum of 31 guests and a maximum of 48 guests for a portrait-oriented painting and 42 for a landscape-oriented painting.
What happens if I don't meet the minimum for my private party?
The organizer of the party will be responsible to make up the difference if a minimum guest count is not met. The payment to cover the minimum will come from the deposit first and, if necessary, an additional charge upon the conclusion of the event.
What happens if I have to cancel my private party?
Your deposit is fully refundable if you give us at least 14 days notice for mobile events or events in our Charleston Room. You need to provide at least 30 days notice if you reserved our Main Studio.
Are animals allowed?
Due to our health permit, animals are not allowed. However, if you have a legitimate service animal, it is at our discretion to allow them to enter. Keep in mind if your animal is disrupting the class, we will ask you to leave.
Do I have to pay in advance or can I pay when I get there?
We take payment at the time of reservation to guarantee your seat. We do take walk-ins but we cannot hold a space for you without payment.
How do I make a reservation?
The easiest way is to book it online by clicking on "Event Calendar", selecting the class you wish to attend and clicking "Add to Cart" for a normal Internet purchasing process. Or, you can call the studio and we would be happy to take your reservation over the phone. You can also stop by the studio during our operating hours and pay in person.
Do you have assigned seating?
We have assigned seating for all of our public classes to ensure that your entire group of family or friends can sit together. Let us know who you want to sit with by clicking on the "Edit Painter Details" button when you make your reservation. Private Parties do not have assigned seating.
How is assigned seating determined?
With an 80" big screen TV displaying the artist's every brush stroke, there is not a bad seat in the house. However, if you have a preference on where you like to sit, simply include it in your reservation. If there are multiple requests for a certain spot, Pinot Perks club members will have priority.
Is it OK to have someone sit with me just to watch?
Our motto is Paint. Drink. Have Fun. You don't have to Drink but you do have to Paint and you will Have Fun.
I can't even draw a straight line. How can I paint an entire painting?
We felt the same way until we tried it! With step-by-step guidance from a professional artist and few tips and tricks, it is easier than you think. Give it a try - you will impress yourself and your family and friends.
When should I arrive?
Please arrive approximately 20 minutes before class starts to avoid the rush at the bar, get settled in, start socializing with your friends and meet some new friends. Remember that this isn't an art class, this is a social event!
When can I see the next month's calendar?
Paintings are always scheduled at least 5 weeks out. The next full month's calendar is published around the 10th of the current month. If you would like to be notified when the full calendar is published, be sure and sign up for our newsletter.
What clothing should I wear to class?
We provide aprons to protect your clothing but accidents do happen and acrylic paint does not wash out of clothing. That said, dress up or dress down - there is no dress code here at Pinot's Palette.
Do I need to bring anything with me?
Yes, bring your beautiful smile, fun loving personality and snacks if you want them. That is it. We provide everything else.
Do you have any non-alcoholic beverages available?
Yes, we have soda, water, iced tea and juice boxes for the kids.
